Disaster Aid for Small Businesses

Attendees at a FEMA meeting yesterday at the Chesterfield County Emergency Management office were told by FEMA that industries would not receive FEMA assistance unless they are a state, federal or non-profit entity.

However, The U.S. Small Business Administration is opening a Business Recovery Center in Bennettsville at noon today to help businesses impacted by Hurricane Florence.

SBA representatives at the center can provide information about disaster loans, answer questions and assist businesses in completing the SBA application.

The center is located at the Marlboro County Economic Development Partnership Office, 214 E. Market St. in Bennettsville. The hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

More information will be posted to Breaking News as details become available. Read the full account in the Oct. 3 issue of The Link.
