Schools on Two-Hour Delay

Sept. 23, 2018

Schools Have Two-Hour Delay

The Chesterfield County School District has released the following message:

Chesterfield County School District will operate on a two-hour delay Monday, September 24, 2018, in order to give drivers better visibility on this first day back.
We recognize that some are still being impacted by the storm, but we feel the best thing we can do is open schools beginning next week. Our district maintenance staff, district support staff, teachers, and principals have worked tirelessly to get facilities ready. We have had outside agencies help with our cleanup efforts, and have performed air quality tests in our schools that had water damage.

Our transportation department as well as our school bus drivers have been working on bus routing. Please know that buses will not operate on closed roads. Because of this inconvenience, if you have an issue, please contact your child’s principal to discuss your individual concern. Our state, county, and local government agencies have worked countless hours in the last week to get things better prepared for our reopening. We want to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to all the residents of Chesterfield County.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this catastrophic event and we look forward to getting back to school next week.

More information will be posted to Breaking News as details become available.
