FEMA deadline extended, recovery center closing

The deadline for South Carolinians to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster assistance due to Hurricane Florence has been extended to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5.

People can register in person at The Disaster Recovery Center that is located on the Cheraw campus of Northeastern Technical College until 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9.

People can also register by calling (800) 621-3362 or (800) 462-7585 (TTY) from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. seven days a week until further notice or by going online to DisasterAssistance.gov.
