Sheriff urges caution about recent deaths

Chesterfield County Sheriff James (JD) Dixon cautions the public about believing what they see on social media regarding the three deaths that occurred earlier this week on Society Hill Road.

“Just because someone posts a comment on social media does not make the comment or opinion true. Everyone involved in this incident: victims, suspects, witnesses from both sides of the family deserve a thorough, fair and accurate investigation,” said Dixon in a statement.

Dixon also stated some postings have come close to making threats against others.

“The Sheriff’s Office takes these threats very seriously. We will investigate every threat reported and criminal action, if needed, will be taken against those who choose to break the law,” said Dixon.

Dixon added his office will release information to the public when possible.
