Odom takes McBee mayoral seat
Glen Odom gathered 213 votes to edge Charlie Short with 203 votes to win the McBee mayoral seat in Tuesday’s tightly contested election.
Taking the two McBee Town Council seats were political newcomers James Linton and Robby Liles with 211 and 201 votes, respectively. Incumbent Charlie Sutton tallied 191, followed by Hewitt Dixon with 175 and Dawn Boykin with 34.
The McBee Municipal Election Commission, chaired by Paulette Humphries, determined the official results during the three-hour certification process today. About 40 provisional ballots were adjudicated in the public hearing.
