Corey Brian Brumbles

Chesterfield – Mr. Corey Brian Brumbles passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was 46 years old.

Born in North Wilkesboro, NC on May 5, 1975 to Charles Brian and Marilyn Hudson Brumbles. He was a pipefitter and welder for PPM. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, South Carolina Gamecock Football, music, and hanging out with his kids.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; wife, Allison Brumbles; parents, Charles Brian and Marilyn Hudson Brumbles; sons, Joshua Brian Brumbles and Elijah Wayne Brumbles; daughter, Chelsey Lynn Haire (Tiffany); sister, Brenda Rae Evers (Darryl); grandchild, Karamia Haire; nieces and nephews, Jacob Evers, Leanne Evers, Matthew Evers, Mckinley Evers, Clara Evers, and Libby Evers.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Burroughs Funeral Home, officiated by Revs. Harrison Lampley and Roger Williams, with burial at Rogers Cemetery in McColl. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Burroughs Funeral Home.

Charlotte Rebecca ‘Becky’ Gulledge

CHERAW – Mrs. Charlotte Rebecca “Becky” Gulledge, 73, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. Born, February 17, 1948 in Concord, NC she was a daughter of the late Willie Van Shaver and the late Iona Heffner Shaver. Mrs. Gulledge was a member of Anointed Word Ministries in Cheraw, SC and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and her pets. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble, shopping, and going to church.

Becky leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 54 years, Carol Glenn Gulledge, Sr. of the home; sons, Glenn (Dena) Gulledge of Cheraw, SC and Caleb (Allison) Gulledge of Columbia, SC; a daughter, Angela (Ernest) Gulledge Barrentine of Latta, SC, a sister, Bonnie Shaver Long of Wallace, SC; five grandchildren Dakotah Gulledge, Micayla Covington, Ysabella Gulledge, J. J. Barrentine, Nathan Barrentine, and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Covington, and Penelope Covington.

A celebration of life was held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Anointed Word Ministries in Cheraw, SC. The family received friends following the service at The Farmhouse at Green Hill, 141 Fairfield Road, Cheraw, SC 29520.

John Robert Hall

WALLACE – John Robert Hall, 68, died Thursday, May 6, 2021. Born in Chesterfield County he was a son of the late William A. and Bonnie Maye Quick Hall. He was a 1970 graduate of Wallace High School. He enjoyed reading, drawing and working on computers. He was a very knowledgeable person.

Surviving are his brothers, Joey Hall of Wallace, SC and Kellon Hall of Cheraw, SC, also, many nieces and nephews.

Clarence P. Jordan

PAGELAND – Mr. Clarence P. Jordan, 92, of Pageland, SC passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Jordan was born on December 11, 1928 in Pageland, South Carolina to the late Raymond Winslow Jordan and Corrie Price Jordan. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Mitchell Jordan, brothers; Rufus and Reece and sisters Eula, Bertha, Alline, Dorothy, and Lucy. Mr. Jordan was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and a member of Mt. Moriah 58 Masonic Lodge for 68 years. Also a Shriner since 1955. He enjoyed farming and loved to sing and whistle while riding on his tractor. He started each day going to Bojangles for breakfast. Mr. Jordan was very sociable and he enjoyed visiting and talking to people. Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, of seventy-five years, Sudie Eubanks Jordan of Pageland, SC; daughter, Lou Ellen Rowell (Richard) of Pageland; grandchildren, Mitchell Jordan (Cindy), Cynthia Parker, Matthew Johnson (Jeri Lee) all of Pageland, SC; great grandchildren, Zachary Parker, Allie Parker, Peyton Parker, Bethany Jordan, Preston Jordan, Brandon Streater and Chloe Streater; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Lucky. The family received friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Zion Hall. There was a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Ritter and Pastor Don Rhyne officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland with Masonic Rites. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, C/O Building fund, 647 Zion Church Road, Pageland, SC 29728, or Regency Southern Care Hospice, Attn: Grace Hospice Foundation, 205 E. CHERAW – Robert Jeffrey Lewis, 59, died Thursday, May 20, 2021. The family will receive friends at the home. There are no services listed at this time.

Rosena Allen Talley

Funeral services for Rosena Allen Talley were held at 1:00pm Saturday May 1, 2021 at Mt. Hebron AME Zion Church in Cheraw. Burial followed at Foundry Hill Cemetery in Cheraw. Mrs. Talley died of natural causes at the age of 95 on Sunday, April 25.

Mrs. Rosena Allen Talley was born August 12, 1925, in Chesterfield, SC. She was the daughter of the late Henry Allen and Doretha Parson Allen.

Mrs. Talley was a servant of God, loving sister, devoted grandmother, devoted aunt, best friend, confidante, and mentor.

Rosena attended Chesterfield public school and Coulter Academy Junior College in Cheraw, SC. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Benedict College in Columbia, SC, in 1955.

She met and married Frank Talley, Sr., on August 15, 1943, and their union was blessed with three children: Michael Frank Talley, Sr., Mary Rose Talley Dingle, and Frank Talley, Jr.

Mrs. Talley taught school in North Carolina and Georgia before joining Robert Smalls Elementary School in Cheraw, SC, where she retired after 35 years of teaching.  For over fifty years, Mrs. Talley was a dedicated beautician.

Mrs. Talley was a lifelong member of the Mt. Hebron AME Zion Church, where she served in various roles.

Rosena was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Talley, Sr., four brothers:  Willie Allen, Floyd Allen, Everett Allen, Henry Curtis Allen and six sisters: Etta Mae McKay, Anna Evans, Doretha Rice, Gladys Gillespie, Lillian Allen, and Mary Lois Blue.

She leaves to cherish loving memories with her three children:  Attorney Michael Frank Talley, Sr. (Dianne) of Greenville, SC, Mary Rose Talley Dingle (William), and Frank Talley, Jr., both of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren: Dr. Camela B. Ford (Kedrick), William A. J. Dingle, III,  Attorney Michanna Talley Tate (Tony), Dr. Frajovon Rosena Talley White (Brian); Dr. Michael F. Talley, Jr. (Jesseye); five great-grandchildren: Chelsie Bell, Addesyn Dingle, William A.J. Dingle, IV, Elijah Emanuel Talley, Zahvian Nazier Lytch; two sisters: Priscilla Nivens of Cheraw, SC and Gerleen Stapleton of Atlanta GA, bonus grandsons Zariah and Jayden Ford of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Services were entrusted to Morris Funeral Cottage of Cheraw.

Steven Allen Walters

WALLACE – Mr. Steven Allen Walters, 33, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.  Born, May 4, 1988 in Fayetteville, NC, he was the son of Marshall Wayne and Abigail Smith Walters.  Steven served his country proudly for eight years in the United States Marine Corps including a deployment to Afghanistan.  He worked for Carolina Canners in Cheraw, SC.  Steven loved to play golf, video games, softball, and any other sports.  He also enjoyed shooting and riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marsh Fulton Walters; paternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Johnson; and maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Smith.

Steven leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Haylee Maire Walters of Hope Mills, NC and Kameryn Jayne Walters of Huntersville, NC; his parents, Marshall W. Walters and Abigail Smith Walters; a sister, Khristene W. Bostwick of Charlotte, NC; and maternal grandparents, James “Pete” Smith and Janice H. Smith.

A Funeral Service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Mission of Faith Community Church in Wallace, SC. Burial followed at the Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC.
