Filing for office opens today

Filing opened today for candidates in the Republican primary scheduled for June 12 and the general election Nov. 8.

Sheriff

Sheriff James Dixon filed as a Democrat for re-election, while three Chesterfield County residents filed as Republicans for the office of sheriff as of the close of business today. They are, in alphabetical order, Jordan C. Seidhom, Cambo Streater and Keith Thomas.

Richie Yow filed as a Republican for re-election to S.C. House District 53.

Patricia Henegan filed as a Democrat for re-election to S.C. House District 54, while Sterling McDiarmid filed as a Republican candidate for the same office.

Probate Judge

Gail Ingram filed for re-election to the non-partisan office of probate judge.

County Council

Two candidates filed for District 3. Al Johnson is running for re-election, while Ethan Foard is challenging him for the seat. Both filed as Republicans.

In District 4, Douglas Curtis is running as a Republican for re-election.

In District 8, Mary Davis Anderson is running as a Republican for re-election.
