Brandi Denell Jones Dixon
CHERAW – Brandi Denell Jones Dixon, 41, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Born in Chesterfield, SC she was a daughter of Henley (Brandy) Jones of Cheraw, SC and Denell Garris of Chesterfield, SC. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone, being with family and going to church.
She is survived by her parents listed above, her husband, Marty Dixon, her sister, Hensley “Bug” Jones of Cheraw, SC, paternal grandmother, Margaret Jones of Cheraw, SC, uncles and aunts, John Paul Jones, Lin Shelly, Jason Garris and Helen Richardson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Henley ”Trey” Lee Jones, III, parental grandfather, Henley Jones, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Garris.
A visitation was held 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.
A funeral service was held 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. Burial was in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.

Carolyn Evon Harris Gary
Carolyn Evon Harris Gary was born in Chesterfield County Hospital in Cheraw, South Carolina to parents James A. Reid, Sr. and Frances E. Harris on December 11, 1952. She was educated by the Cheraw Public Schools System and was a graduate of Long High School Class of 1971.
Carolyn had a love like no other for her three sons, also known as her “3 husbands, The AG Boys.” She also had a love and passion for cooking, which would often be displayed by feeding her family and friends.
She was an active and faithful member of Grace Temple Fellowship Church in Wallace, South Carolina until her illness. She was also a faithful member of the Queen of Sheba #5 Eastern Stars until her untimely passing.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: James A. Reid, Sr. and Francis Harris; Daughter, Yolanda Denise; Sister, Shirley A. Little; and Brothers, Barry Reid and Donnie E. Harris.
Carolyn leaves fond memories to cherish to her 3 Sons: Antoinne (Dorothy) of Ossining, New York, Anthony (Victoria) of Cheraw, South Carolina, and Antonio (Sharon) of Gaston, South Carolina; 8 Grandchildren; 2 great Grandchildren; (11 Siblings) 4 Brothers; Jimmy (Dorothy) of Cheraw, South Carolina, James Arthur Reid, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina, Johnny Reid (Joylene) of Columbia, South Carolina, Ronnie Harris of Odenton, Maryland; 7 Sisters: Leatha York of Brooklyn, New York, Willie Mae Burden (Gregory) of Clermont, Florida, Geraldine Morrison (Troy) of Sanford, North Carolina, Sue F. Harris and Janice Tillman, both of Cheraw, South Carolina, Annette Adams (Willie) of Laurinburg, North Carolina, and Sharon D. Elizabeth ‘Lib’ Davis Guinn
CHESTERFIELD – Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Davis Guinn, age 86, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with burial following in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Guinn was born October 15, 1935 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late John Murray and Viola Cranford Davis. She was a 1953 graduate of Chesterfield High School and a member of David’s Grove Baptist Church. She was retired from both J.P. Stevens and the S.C. DMV – Chesterfield office. Lib loved her Lord, her family, and was a faithful prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Guinn was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Guinn; brothers, John M. Davis, and Bealer Davis; and sisters, Doris Shaw, Gladys Kelly, and Helen Moore.
She is survived by her brother, W.L. (Kay) Davis of West Columbia, SC; nieces and nephews, Doris S. Lisenby, Carol Rivers, James Shaw, Ricky Davis, Randy Davis, Cindy Davis, and Vickie Davis; in addition to numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A very special Thank You is offered to Mrs. Lib’s caregivers, Doris Lisenby (niece), Louise Sims, Cindy Gibson, and Moe Zwifka for their exceptional love and care.

Ronda Paul ‘R.P.’ Presson
CHESTERFIELD – Chief Ronda Paul “R.P.” Presson (RET) age 87, entered into rest on Sunday, May 15 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at First Southern Methodist Church by the Reverend Dr. Jack Jarrett, with the eulogy being delivered by Chief Junior Kerns. The committal service will follow in the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Chief Presson will be escorted to the church and his final resting place on the TMRVFD Engine 46.
Mr. Presson was born March 3, 1935 in Union County, NC, a son of the late Paul Asa and Myrtle Mills Presson. R.P. was a graduate of Unionville High School in Unionville, NC and Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. He was a former educator in the public-school systems and postal worker in Cheraw, SC. R.P. was a charter member and former Conference Board Chair and building committee member of First Southern Methodist Church. R. P. was a former member of the Men’s Cartwright Club at First Southern Methodist Church. He was also a charter member of Teals Mill Fire Department where he retired as Fire Chief on January 1, 2020. He enjoyed watching Gamecocks sports, working the polls during elections, eating breakfast at Huddle House, and relaxing on the swing with his dog by his side.
In addition to his parents, R.P. was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McBride Presson.
Survivors include his sister: Judy Presson Hill of Matthews, NC; nephews, Brad Hill of Charleston, SC and Gregg Hill of Mineral Springs, NC.

Ellen Wood Tyner
CHESTERFIELD – Ms. Ellen Wood Tyner, age 61, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her home. Graveside services were held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Old Peniel Cemetery (located behind by Pine View Baptist Church) by Rev. Donald Wallace, Sr. and Brent Taylor. The family greeted friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of her sister, Susie Trexler.
Ms. Tyner was born September 17, 1960 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of Gerald and Brenda Johnson Wood. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and a former employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing. Ellen was a member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed socializing and talking with everyone. A lady with a heart of gold, Ellen enjoyed baking cakes and giving them away to her friends and neighbors.
Survivors include her loving parents, Gerald & Brenda Wood of the home; siblings, Susie Trexler (Marty Griggs) of Chesterfield, SC, Jeff Wood (Toni) of Wadesboro, NC, Amy Wood Stokes (Jeff Bryant) of Society Hill, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to McLeod hospice nurse & close family friend Carrie Rhyne for her friendship, love, and care to Ellen and her family.

Milton Yearty
Milton Yearty, 88, of Pinopolis, SC, a retired buyer for B.C. Moore’s Department Stores, died Thursday morning at the Summerville Hospice House. His funeral was held at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Berkeley Seniors, Inc., 103 Gulledge St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mr. Yearty was born September 1, 1933, in Chester, GA, a son of O. V. Yearty and Della Peacock Yearty. He was a US Army veteran of Vietnam, and was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church in Pinopolis. He was a former member of the North Cheraw Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Adult Sunday School Teacher for many years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and he loved animals, but he especially adored his family and friends. After his retirement, Mr. Yearty became a volunteer at the charity shop in Cheraw prior to moving to Berkeley County. He was an active member of the Berkeley Seniors and enjoyed playing corn hole. Mr. Yearty was the widower of Nell Haire Yearty to whom he was married for 60 years. Surviving are his son, Mark Yearty and his wife, Sherry, of Pinopolis; a sister-in-law, Dell Davis of Albany, GA; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
