Lucille Gaskins

Mrs. Lucille Gaskins, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 12, 2022, with her family by her side. Born August 21, 1925, in Salina Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Marcus Dean and Alice E. Rinquist.

“Grandma” as she was affectionately known by many of those who loved her, was a graduate of Kipp High School in Kipp, Kansas. She was a track star and was awarded for her 50-yard dash. She worked for many years with Chesterfield Manufacturing and later kept children in her home.

Lucille was an avid reader, and often would read a “good book” long past midnight. Her hobbies included traveling, reading, dancing, flower gardening, shopping with loved ones, and she was especially partial to “a good Belk store.” She often shared fond memories of her travels with her husband Fred.  She was a New York Yankees fan. She loved big and always had a welcoming home to anyone who stopped by for a visit.  Her smile was infectious and her love unconditional.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frederick Wilson Gaskins, Sr.; brothers: Dean and Dale Rinquist, sister: Virginia Barr; and grandson, James Thomas “Tommy” White.

Survivors include her sons: Freddy (Teresa) Gaskins of Chesterfield, and Mark (Francie) Gaskins of Chesterfield; daughter: Cammie Lou (Jamie) McClain of Chesterfield, and Libby (Jamie) Hancock of Cheraw; grandchildren: Trey (Nicole) Gaskins, Brittany (Conrad) Timmons, Candace (Trae) Michael, Rebecca White, Madyson (Robby) Sowell, and Connor Scott; great grandchildren: Parker Gaskins, Marley and Maverick Michael, and Denver Timmons; special niece: Alice Joe Campbell of Minneapolis, KS

The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to the faithful in-home caregivers.

A private committal in the Chesterfield Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Jeremy Phillip Isaacs

Mr. Jeremy Phillip Isaacs, 48, of Pageland, SC, went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 10, 2022. He was born November 8, 1973 to Phil and Julie Isaacs in Charlotte, NC.

Jeremy was known as “The Gutter Man” all across the Carolinas and was the owner of Southern Rain Gutter Company for 27 years. He was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed go-kart racing and spending time with his children.

In addition to being survived by his parents, he is also survived by his four children, Elizabeth Grace Isaacs, Caleb Levi Isaacs, Mary Christal Faith Isaacs, and Houston James Isaacs; grandson, Jeremiah Byron Isaacs; and future grandson, Wendell Isaac Fuller; as well as other extended relatives and dear friends.

Services were held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC. Visitation was held at 2:30PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:30. A private burial was held at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC.

Arrangements are in the care of Holland Funeral Service.

George Walter Krauss

CHERAW – George Walter Krauss, 84, died Friday, September 9, 2022. He was a member of Cheraw Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and graduated Northeastern Technical College as an Honor Student. He loved children, his church and being a True American Patriot. He was a carpenter by trade. George enjoyed woodworking, animals, and physical activities such as softball and volleyball.

Mr. Krauss is survived by a son, George A. Krauss of Cheraw, SC, sisters, Joan and Shirley, both of PA, and a granddaughter, Morgan Krauss of Cheraw, SC.

A graveside funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Church of Latter Day Saints Cemetery in Society Hill, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Chesterfield County Animal Shelter, 436 Goodale Road, Chesterfield, SC, 29709.

Donna Caulder McLeod

CHERAW – Mary Donna Caulder McLeod 76, died Sunday, September 18, 2022. Born in McKinney, TX she was a daughter of the late James E. and Maxine Anderson Caulder.

Surviving is her husband Wendell Woodrow McLeod of the home, sons, Dell (Annette) McLeod of Chesterfield, SC, Patrick (Cortnei) McLeod of Cheraw, SC, Joey (Tara) McLeod of Cheraw, SC, a daughter, Wendy (Chris Huggins) McLeod of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Dakota, Payton, Chloe, Savannah, Cheyenne, Collin, Alayna, great grandchildren, Harper, Christopher, Sawyer, Cash, brothers, David (Janet) Caulder of Chesterfield, SC, Randy Caulder of Cheraw, SC, sisters, Barbara White of Cheraw, SC, and Carolyn (Eulion) Winslow of Kings Mountain, NC. Also, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above and a son Danny Brian McLeod.

The family received friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, September 19, 2022 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service was held 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the McLeod family in their time of grief.

Julia Rae Lisenby Rivers

CHESTERFIELD – Mrs. Julia Rae Lisenby Rivers, age 85, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 16, 2022. Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2022 at Hopewell Baptist Church by The Honorable Pastor Richie Yow and Pastor Mark Phillips with burial following in the church cemetery. The family greeted friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rivers was born October 13, 1936 a daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Clarence and Ella Armenta Wallace Lisenby. A member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Julia enjoyed working in her flowers and yard, picking up magnolia leaves, and loved her pictures. She could be found watching Golden Girls, the Gamecocks, or racing on television. Julia loved spending time with family, eating out, and shopping. She will be remembered as a woman that loved to talk, that gave the best hugs, and her children and grandchildren were her greatest loves.

Mrs. Rivers was preceded in death by her parents listed above; husband, Lester Delano Rivers and her sister, Juanita Lisenby Gulledge.

Elizabeth “Lib” Morton Watson

CHESTERFIELD – Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Morton Watson, age 77, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 with her family by her side. Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by the Reverends Michael Phares and Jerry Watson with the eulogy being delivered by Savanna Page. The burial followed in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 2:30 – 4:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Watson was born May 11, 1945 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Bebe Jerome and Mary Jane Taylor Morton. An avid gardener, Lib never saw a plant or flower she didn’t have to take home. She was known for her green thumb, and could grow anything. She enjoyed many other hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, and collecting thimbles. Fishing is a Morton family tradition and Lib was always ready to drown a worm or cricket. Many memories were made on family trips to Santee, catching catfish and her making someone else clean them, and then having a grand fish fry.

Lib’s personality and smile was contagious and could light up the darkest room. Going to the flea markets and bargain hunting with Allen made her happy, but nothing topped spending time with family and loving on all the grandchildren and great grandchildren that came along. A faithful and supportive member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Lib was a devoted Christian lady that will truly be missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ray K. Watson, Sr.; sister, Myrtle Mills; and brother, Jimmy Morton.

(Debbie) Watson, Jr., Crystal Newman both of Chesterfield, SC, Allen “Al” (Laurie) Hunter, Jr. of West Point, VA, and Debbie (Tommy) Ross of Long Island, NY; grandchildren, Tiffany (Alex Robins) Watson, Bryan Watson, Jake (Ashley) Evans, Savanna Page, B.J. Eslick, Liz Eslick, Matthew (Fran) Watson, Trey Watson, Toni Kinard, Lauren Newman, Kyle Newman, Katie Hunter, Courtney (Jason) Norris, Skylar Ross, and Tristan Ross; great grandchildren, Baker, Sadie, Briley, Reed, Spencer, Ellis, and Ollie; brothers, Bobby (Joanne) Morton of Marshville, NC, Vance (Linda Rose) Morton of Ruby, Samp Morton, B.J. Sidney Floyd Webb

WALLACE – Mr. Sidney Floyd “PaPa Floyd” Webb, 76, entered into rest on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at his home after a long illness. Mr. Webb was born July 30, 1946 in Jericho, SC. He was a son of Mildred G. Webb and S.B. Webb. He was a US Army Veteran and retired from BGF Industries in Cheraw, SC. “PaPa Floyd” enjoyed singing gospel hymns and playing his guitar. He was a devoted Christian and family man.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents listed above, his sisters, Peggy Glarum and Ann Brazzell; his brother, Allen Webb and a grandson, Joshua Ratliff.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years Mamie E. “Libbie” Webb of the home, sons Floyd Dean (Tammy) Webb of Wallace, SC and Walter C. “Bo Bo” (Mary) Driggers of Wallace, SC; daughters, Katrina Renee (Jack) Knight, of Cheraw, SC and Esther Michelle Wallace (Jack Lane) of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren, Alisha Webb, Floyd Dean Webb, Jr, Myra Webb, Jase Webb, Kim Knight, Drew (Salena) Knight, Deana (Brandon) Sellers, Nikki (Matthew) Keth, Jessi (Blake) Tillman, Corey Driggers, and Dylan Suits; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Dawson, Cayden, Cloie, Emalyn, Lukas, and Hudson; brother, Glenn Webb of Wallace, SC and two sisters, Carolyn (Alvin) Perhealth of Wallace, SC and Glinda Bryant of Lillington, NC; cousin and brother of the heart Jerry Wayne (Jeanette) Shaw numerous nieces and nephews and a former wife Catherine Webb of Wallace, SC.

A graveside service was held in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 3:00 PM.

Ashley Channing Yow

CHERAW – Mr. Ashley Channing Yow, age 41, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at his home. Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Friday, September 2, 2022 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by his brother, The Honorable Rep. Richie Yow, Rev. Mark Phillips, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Lower Macedonia Memorial Gardens. The family greeted friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home 3503 W. Market Street Ext, Cheraw, SC 29520.

Ashley was born October 19, 1980 in Florence, SC a son of Richard (Rickey) and Judy Jones Yow.  He enjoyed his beach trips with his nephew RJ and taking care of his dad and brother’s animals. Ashley was always willing to lend a hand to all especially his grandmother and parents. Ashley looked forward to the many annual mountain trips with his mother and father that included his aunt and nephew. Of all the things he enjoyed, time with his family was of most importance. His favorite time was Christmas as he could not wait to give out his presents to family members, usually early if he could. Ashley loved to argue football with his nephew RJ Yow, as Ashley loved his former team the Braves who he played for and RJ loved his team the Rams who he played for. You could find him pulling for the Rams as he watched his nephew and he would light up when he saw him come on the field, however his blood was Brave red. Ashley’s proudest moment was when he became an uncle. He enjoyed watching baseball and collecting his baseball cards. Ashley loved his Lord and Savior and was always prepared to deliver the Sunday Blessing at dinner. Ashley accepted the Lord at Lower Macedonia Baptist Church, his childhood church home.

Mr. Yow was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd Jones; Elvin and Rosa Rhetta Yow; Cousins Chrissy Branch, Cheryl Yow; Numerous Aunts and Uncles.

Survivors include his parents, Richard (Rickey) and Judy Jones Yow of Cheraw, SC; Brother Richard Lloyd Yow (Richie) and his Wife Crystal; Nephew RJ Yow; Grandmother, Louise Jones. Numerous Aunts and Uncles. And all of his cousins that he loved and cherished as brothers and sisters.
