Floyd Samuel ‘Jack’ Douglass Jr.
CHESTERFIELD – Mr. Floyd Samuel “Jack” Douglass, Jr., age 74, entered into rest on Monday, September 19, 2022 at his home. Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2022 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Pastor Fred McDaniel and Reverend Bill Brock with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family received friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon, September 21, 2022 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home and other times at 80 Hwy. 102, Chesterfield, SC. Friends are welcome to stop by the funeral home on Thursday, between the hours of 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM to pay their respects.
Mr. Douglass was born February 12, 1948 in Wadesboro, NC a son of the late Floyd Samuel Douglass, Sr. and Mary Vann Kendall Douglass. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and received his B.S. degree in Forest Resource Management from Clemson University. Jack was a former project forester with the South Carolina Forestry Commission for over 20 years. Following his time with the forestry, he founded and operated Douglass 2-Way Radio, now Communications Technology, LLC.
Mr. Douglass was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where he was a part of the Men’s Club and a member of the New Hope Sunday school class. He was also an honorary member of the Chesterfield Rescue Squad and was a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association. Jack enjoyed skydiving, traveling with his family, and connecting with many friends through Ham radio. A simple man who loved his family, his work family, and faith family, Jack will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, silent helper, and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Douglass was also preceded in death by his sisters, Millie Epps of Union, SC, and Cornelia Bittle of Camden, SC.
Survivors include his wife, Martha King Douglass of the home; son, Daniel Preston “Pres” Douglass of Chesterfield, SC, sister, Ann Gibson Nichols of Simpsonville, SC; step-children, Jason (Charlotte) King; step-grandchildren, Gracie King and Jake King of Cheraw, SC and his work family, Joyce Lide, Junior Kearns, Justin Kerns, and Blake Jacobs; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas E. ‘Bobby’ Rollings
MYRTLE BEACH/CHERAW – Thomas E. “Bobby” Rollings, 86, devoted husband of Patti, passed away September 23, 2022 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in Jefferson, SC, he was the son of the late James Furman Rollings and Eufalla Eubanks Rollings.
Tom retired from INA Bearing, Co. in 2000. Prior to this, he worked at Sacony in Cheraw, and upon their closing became part owner of Carolina Data Service. Tom moved to Myrtle Beach permanently in 2017, when Patti retired from Carolina Canners, Inc.
Enjoying life to the fullest, Tom loved camping with his family, working in his yard, and taking care of the grandkids. His other hobbies were golfing, bowling, dancing, playing cards, and taking care of his wife, Patti.
Tom is survived by his wife Patti of 58 years and his sister Sara Deese of Pageland, SC, and her children Tony Deese (Karla) and Tammy Farshchi (Al). Tom leaves behind his children Leesa Rawls (Mac) of Myrtle Beach, Tommy Rollings (William Forrester) of Myrtle Beach, and Kristin Tarleton (Mike) of Chesterfield, SC. Grandchildren include Kelly Kennelly (Zach) of Myrtle Beach, Laura Gooden (Dustin) of Arlington, VA., JT Cutchin (Langley) of Chesterfield, SC, Katie Tarleton, and Conner Tarleton, both of Chesterfield. Great grandchildren: Cooper and Emily Oldroyd; Harrison, Lincoln, and Anna Blythe Gooden; Corbett and Boone Cutchin. He also leaves behind loving aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and especially his precious cat, Annie.
His family loved him dearly and will miss him every day.
Many thanks to ProMedica Hospice for their months of care. All the understanding and gentle care he was given by so many was greatly appreciated by the family.
The family will receive friends at McMillan-Small Funeral Home at 910 67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, on Wednesday September 28th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made either to Embrace Hospice, ProMedica Hospice, or a charity of your choosing.

Marvin Sam Turnage
CHERAW – Mr. Marvin Sam Turnage, age 43, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church by Reverend Michael Davis and Brent Taylor with burial following in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mr. Turnage was born September 22, 1978 in Cheraw, SC a son of the late Marvin Walker and Jennie Mae Mancill Turnage. He was a 2000 graduate of Cheraw High School and a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Sam was proud to serve on the greeting and hospitality team at Cheraw Gas Company. A young man with a larger-than-life personality, Sam never met a stranger and always enjoyed getting to know someone. He enjoyed “working” on the computer and was an impressive history buff who enjoyed studying and learning about each U.S. President.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Turnage was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Sue Mancill; aunts and uncles, Brenda & Rev. Robert Turner, and Kenny Chapman.
Survivors include his mother of the heart, Terrie Sue Chapman of Cheraw, SC; uncle, Perry Mancill of Timmonsville, SC; numerous cousins including, Brandi (Joey) McKay, Dusty (Selen) Chapman, Matthew (Kimberly) Turner, Patrick Mancill, and Jonathan Mancill.
The family would like to express their thankfulness to special caregivers, Geneva Goines, Kathy Smith, Rachel Rivers Guinn, and Kala Smith for the excellent love and care shown to Sam and their family.
