Harold Dean Jackson Jr.

October 22, 1941 – May 2, 2022

PAWLEYS ISLAND – Harold Dean Jackson, Jr. died at his home on May 2, 2022. He was the son of Harold Dean Jackson, Sr., and Mary Charles Rivers Jackson.

He is survived by his wife Amy Generelly Jackson, son Harold Dean Jackson III, son Peter Rivers Jackson and his wife Elizabeth Griffin Jackson, granddaughter Sophie Blesse Jackson, sister Jane Jackson Avinger, brother-in-law Peter Generelly and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Harold (also known as “Brother”) grew up in Cheraw, SC. After graduating from Cheraw High School, he went on to graduate from Wake Forest University (Class of 1961) where he was a proud member of the football squad and Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Harold was a career entrepreneur whose business experience spanned many industries ranging from being a pioneer in the fast-food business to numerous construction and real estate development endeavors.

He had a passion for aviation of all types and had over 50 years of experience flying his own airplanes. He was also an avid snow skier, scuba diver and outdoorsman. After relocating to the wild coast of Maine in the 1990’s he and his wife Amy spent countless hours on the Bay of Fundy sailing and boating. He was widely recognized as a master chicken fryer and lobster steamer by the numerous friends and family that came to visit.

A graveside service will be held at the Old Saint David’s Cemetery in Cheraw, SC on Friday November 25, 2022, at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorials to be made to the Wake Forest Football Program/University Advancement (PO Box 7227/Winston Salem, NC 27109) or to the Lubec Memorial Library (55 Water Street/Lubec, ME 04652).

Mary Glenda ’Skeeter’ Roscoe

CHERAW – Mary Glenda Cagle “Skeeter” Roscoe, 57, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Born in Cheraw, SC she was a daughter of the late Daniel Mack and Janie Williams Cagle. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved Harley Davidson.

Surviving is her husband, Carlton Lee “Tubby” Roscoe of Cheraw, SC, daughters, Victoria Brooke (Jeremy) Mabry, Carley Lynn Roscoe, Mary Catherine Roscoe, Amber Ann Nicole Roscoe all of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Aidan, Kinzey, Tripp, Addison, Keeley, Logan, and J.J, a sister, Darlene Dunn (Mitch) of Cheraw, SC, and her good friends, Tina Ratliff, and Patricia Baskins.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, brothers, Mickey Cagle, David Cagle, a sister, Susie Harris, and a sister-in-law, Edith Lesley.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

Betty Jo Freeman Wiseman

CHERAW – Betty Jo Freeman Wiseman, 61, died on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Born, January 12, 1961, in Cheraw, SC, she was the daughter of the late Billy Leroy and Pearly Pauline Hodge Freeman.  Betty Jo was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Wallace, SC, and enjoyed diamond painting. She also loved watching the Hallmark Movie Chanel, making flower arrangements, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Leroy Freeman, and Pearly Pauline Hodge Freeman.

Betty Jo leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Brandy Nicole Andrews (Christopher Kosman) of Florida, and Crystal L. Jones (Kelly) of Wallace, SC; brothers, Billy Leroy Freeman, Jr. (Diane) of Cheraw, SC, and Bill Freeman of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Brianna Whalley, Bubba Whalley, Cameron Michael Kosman, Christina Marie Kosman, Nicholas Kosman, Sean Patrick Kosman, Molly Nichole Jones, and Carter Lee Jones; and her former husband, Frank Wiseman.

A graveside funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC.

The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC.
