Robert Paul Sellers III

RUBY – Mr. Robert Paul Sellers, III, age 81, entered into rest on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 2, 2023 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Mike Phares and Brent Taylor with burial following in the Hurst Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Sellers was born December 26, 1941 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Paul Sellers, Jr. and Frances Pate Sellers. He was a retired employee of Sonoco Industries with over 40 years of service, and was a member of Sonoco’s “Old Timer’s Club.” Mr. Sellers was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion Post 74. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Ebenezer United Methodist Church. An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed working in his yard, watching sports and westerns, and attending NASCAR and rodeo events.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sellers was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rivers Sellers; brother, Ebbie Sellers; sister, Frances Steen; brother-in-law, Glynn Steen; and in-laws from his wife’s family that he loved dearly, Margie Rae (Walter) Landon, Truett (Billie) Rivers, Raymond (Eloise) Rivers, Kenneth (Cora) Rivers, and Jessie (Sue) Rivers.

Survivors include his son, Stevenson (Michelle) Sellers of Chesterfield, SC; daughters, Paulette Sellers of Ruby, SC, and Lou Anne (Keith Bailey) Williams of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Danielle (Molly) Evans, Stephanie (Taylor) Griggs, Tyler (Harleigh) Brigman, R.J. Sellers, Sara Beth Evans, Gracie Williams; great grandchildren, Grady, Paityn, Landin, Savanna, and soon to be arriving in March of 2023, Malani; brother, Donnie (Barbara) Sellers of Chesterfield, SC; sister-in-law, Nannie Lou Sellers of Chesterfield, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 74, P.O. Box 385, Chesterfield, SC 29709 or to the Hurst Cemetery Fund, c/o Cynthia Horne 1759 Wexford Road, Ruby, SC 29741.

Shirley Wise Tinkham

GOOSE CREEK – Shirley Wise Tinkham, 74, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.  Born, August 22, 1948, in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Percy Hayden and Claryne Griggs Wise.  Mrs. Tinkham was a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she was an active member.  She lived a life of service to others and enjoyed walking and going to the gym, as well as cooking.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, listed above, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Keith Lanier Tinkham; and a sister, Janet Wise.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Keith Ian Tinkham (Lynn) of Goose Creek, SC, Nicholas Hayden Tinkham (Jennifer) of Laie, HI, Jacque Edith Young (Aaron) of Trophy Club, TX, and Jonathan Edward Tinkham (Amanda) of Newton, NC; a sister, Doris Grant of Cheraw, SC; and thirteen grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023, at The Church of Latter-Day Saints, Matthews First Ward, located at 13925 Thompson Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.  Burial followed in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.

The family received friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, just prior to the service at the church.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Tinkham family in their time of grief.

Kathryn Lynn White

Kathryn Lynn White, 59, widow of Roger “Quail” Dale Dorn passed away, Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Born in Cheraw, she was the oldest daughter of Harriet Griggs White and the late Campbell L. “CL” White.  Lynn was a joy to be around, always happy and never met a stranger.  She loved animals, traveling to the beach, spending time with her family and lived her life on her terms.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Chase Compton.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her children, Calvin Caulder (Raquel) of Texas and Ashley Clark (Brian) of Greenwood; two sisters, Nancy Compton (Carl) and Melanie Flynn (Michael); three grandsons, Garrett Caulder, Seth Mansanarez and Airell Caulder;  nephew, Colt Compton (Scarlett), a niece Journey Campbell (Tristen); three great nephews, Cooper, Payne and Gunner Compton; her fur baby “Moonpie”; and several friends who loved her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Lower Macedonia Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 3-4 pm.
