Roger Dale Galliher
WALLACE – Mr. Roger Dale Galliher, 72, died on Friday, March 17, 2023. Born, November 9, 1950 in Mocksville, NC, he was the son of the late Dale and Louise Black Galliher. Roger attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Wallace, SC and loved tractors and farming.
Along with his parents, listed above, he was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Garris.
Roger leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Carolyn Smith Galliher of the home; a step-son, James Darren Driggers of Rockingham, NC; a step-daughter, Jessica Erin Hewitt of Wallace, SC; sisters, Rachel Locklear, and Barbara Goodman both of Wadesboro, NC; grandchildren, Rayanna Hewitt, and Darian Hewitt; a son-in-law, Danny Hewitt; and his favorite dog, Lillie Mae.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Wallace, SC.

Barbara Louise Hopkins
CHERAW – Barbara Louise Hopkins, 78, died on Friday, March 17, 2023. Born, November 3, 1944, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Manning Elmore and Willa Dean Payne Sanford. Barbara was the 1985 graduate of Chesterfield-Marlboro Tech (Northeastern Tech) with a degree in engineering. She worked in quality control at INA Bearing Co. and was a nurse with Orangeburg Regional Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC, was a Guardian ad Litem, and enjoyed reading. She also enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, sewing, and puzzles.
Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Dean Williams; twin sons, who passed at birth, Shane, and Shawn; and her husband, John Hopkins.
Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Jimbo Williams of Cheraw, SC, and Jay Hopkins of Inverness, FL; a daughter, Polly Humann of Rockingham, NC; brothers, Buster Sanford, and Richard Sanford; a sister, Tina Vinluan; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, SC.
The family would like to thank the staff members and special friends at Pee Dee Gardens in Florence for the love, friendship, and care that was shown to Barbara over the past two years.

Shirley Trulove Huggins
CHERAW – Shirley Trulove Huggins, 80, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Born February 19, 1943 in Wilmington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Earl and Sybil Montgomery Trulove. Mrs. Huggins was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cheraw, SC, and was a retired 8th grade math teacher with Chesterfield County Schools. She also enjoyed reading, and puzzles.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Brian Huggins (Nancy) of Hartsville, SC, and Tim Huggins (Kristi) of Concord, NC; a brother, Earl Trulove (Pat) of Norwood, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Huggins (Shannon), Cody Johnson (Sarah), Brayden Huggins, and Katie Ordasz (Brian); and great-grandchildren, Kara Johnson, Savannah Ordasz, and Bennett Dewberry.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC.
The family received friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Doris Craig Melton
MT. CROGHAN – Mrs. Doris Craig Melton, age 84, entered into rest on Friday, March 17, 2023. Funeral Services were held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 20, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church by Pastor Kyle Oliver and Brent Taylor with burial following in the church cemetery. The family greeted friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Monday, prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. Melton was born July 23, 1938 in Lancaster, SC a daughter of the late J.C. and Susie A. Craig. She was the retired owner and operator of Doris’ Beauty Shop and a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served as former Sunday school teacher, choir member, and on various food committees throughout the years. Doris enjoyed quilting, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and was always gifting others with her canned vegetables and jellies.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Melton was also preceded in death by her brother, David Craig.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Troy Melton of the home; children, Daronda McCathern of Jefferson, SC, and Tony E. (Susan) Melton of Mt. Croghan, SC; grandchildren, Bryan (Daronda) Price of Chesterfield, SC, Heath (Amber) Rollins of Jefferson, SC; great grandchildren, Cadence, Drew, Ayden, Lydia, and Layla; siblings, Bruce (Royce) Craig of Lancaster, SC, Mildred Abernathy of Ruby, SC, Donnie (Virginia) Craig of Jefferson, SC, Irene Hammonds of Ruby, SC, Wayne (Dianne) Craig of Ruby, SC, Martha (Emsley) Griffin of Lancaster, SC, and Evelyn Rhodes of Ruby, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends including, Shirley Adams.
