Captain Rob Petrucci, public information officer for Pageland Fire Department, said at approximately 8:56 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, that Pageland Fire Department, along with High Point Fire District, Lifeguard EMS, Ruby-Mt. Croghan Volunteer Fire Department, Sandhills Volunteer Fire Department, and Lanes Creek Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire in the Amberly Subdivision at 59 Amberly Circle in Pageland.
Once on scene, the Pageland Fire Engine 2 reported heavy smoke and fire from the porch of a two-story single-family dwelling.
Petrucci said an aggressive, offensive attack with a building search found the residence unoccupied. The fire was controlled in approximately 20 minutes after the first arriving units made entry.
The scene was left in the care of the Pageland Police Department, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was called for a cause and origin investigation.
