McBee Mayor, Police Chief face misconduct in office charges

McBee Mayor Glenn Odom said Monday that he and Police Chief Timmy Knight are facing misconduct in office charges following an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

In a text to The Link from Odom, he said, “(The) Chief and me are being charged with misconduct in office.”

He also said he plans to turn himself in Tuesday and that his attorney will issue a statement.

As of Monday at presstime, SLED had not publicly released information regarding the alleged charges or the investigation.
