Suspect in custody, police seek additional information in April 3 shooting in Cheraw

One suspect is in custody, and Cheraw Police are searching for additional individuals following a fatal shooting on Friday, April 3, at the Dizzy Gillespie Apartments.
Cheraw Police Chief Julius Riley said investigators have identified three additional individuals believed to be involved in the April 3 incident and are asking the public for help.
Authorities are specifically seeking information about a dark-colored GMC SUV that may be connected to the case.
Riley said they are asking for any information related to the suspect vehicle.
According to a Cheraw Police Department incident report, officers responded around 10:49 a.m.
April 3 to Dizzy Gillespie Apartments in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male victim lying unconscious on his back near the building. The report states the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators later identified the victim as 18-year-old Jerimiah Zamier Hudson of Rockingham, North Carolina.
During the investigation, officers recovered shell casings and located a shoe believed to belong to one of the suspects near the entrance of a nearby apartment complex.
Lyfe I’am Dvarion Rorls-Woodard, 19, of Cheraw,  was arrested and charged April 7 in connection with the shooting. He is believed to be the shooter and is currently in custody.
Riley said the investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges pending.
