Driver dies in collision with tractor-trailer

The S.C. Highway Patrol reported a fatality after a two-vehicle collision on Thursday, Sept. 26, near Wallace.
According to Lance Cpl Lena Butler, the collision occurred at 12:05 p.m. on SC Highway 177 near Step Road, one mile north of Wallace.
Butler said the driver of a 2023 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling north on SC Highway 177, and the driver of a 2018 Kia Soul was traveling south on Steppe Road when the two vehicles collided.
The collision resulted in the death of the driver of the Kia Soul, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
