A Chesterfield man has been arrested after an investigation into allegations of sexual exploitation involving a minor.
Investigator Brittany Robinson from the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office started an inquiry into allegations of sexual exploitation involving a minor on Thursday, Oct. 10.
According to Sheriff Cambo Streater, this
led to the execution of a search warrant.
The investigation uncovered that the suspect, Joey Samuel Ammons, a 53-year-old resident of Begley Stump Road in Chesterfield possessed child pornography on his mobile device, including images of minors identified within the community.
Streater said during the execution of the search warrant, law enforcement officials confiscated several electronic devices along with three firearms, which Ammons is
legally barred from possessing.
Following his arrest, Ammons is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Detention Center.
Streater said the investigation has resulted in the issuance of multiple warrants for sexual exploitation of a minor in the first, second, and third degrees, with additional warrants anticipated.
Officials said there is a strong belief that Ammons may have been preying on victims for an extended period.
Individuals who suspect they may have been victimized by Ammons are encouraged to call the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 623-2101 or email Robinson at [email protected].
