CCSD names finalists for superintendent position

Chesterfield County School Board announced three finalists for superintendent during a special called meeting on Friday, May 16.
The finalists are Dr. Christopher Ballenger, superintendent for Warren County Public Schools in Virginia; Dr. Jerry Oates, chief human resources officer for Sumter School District; and Dr. John Tharp, principal at York Comprehensive High School.
The person chosen will replace outgoing Superintendent Dr. Chan Anderson, who announced plans to leave the position at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
