County administrator speaks about animal services
The Link is aware of concerns some individuals have raised about Chesterfield County Animal Services.
Chesterfield County Administrator Tim Eubanks said:
“Chesterfield County takes the recent allegations concerning Animal Services very seriously. County staff, volunteers and rescue organizations have worked together for years now to transform Chesterfield County Animal Services into a model that other facilities in the state have emulated. Although we believe some of the allegations are inaccurate, we want to make certain that the progress Animal Services has made continues. In order to do so, we have engaged the Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to provide any guidance on this issue. We look forward to working with the Humane Society in that regard as well as those in our community and surrounding areas that have contributed to the success of the shelter.”
