COVID vaccine updates
CareSouth Carolina is no longer taking new appointments this week to administer COVAX. The latest updates on COVAX supply and availability are posted online at caresouth-carolina.com.
McLeod Health Cheraw will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for the 1A category (includes 70 and older individuals) from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Fisher Hill Baptist Community Church, 3282 W. Market St. near Cheraw.
Vaccine supplies are on a first-come, first-served basis while limited supplies last. Work badge/proof of 1A employment status is required for employees or driver’s license for residents 70 and older.
Local scam
A business owner has contacted The Link about an attempt to scam her into using a prepaid debit card to pay her Duke Power bill. The owner said the call sounded legitimate until she was told to purchase the card and call back with information about the card.
Just a reminder, no utility company will ever ask for a prepaid debit card to pay a bill a bill or threaten to cut off your utility without mailing a notice first.
