Juvenile shooting death in Pageland

The Pageland Police Department has released the following statement about a shooting that occurred last night in Pageland.

Pageland Police officers responded about 9 p.m. May 25 to the 600 block of West McGregor Street in reference to a shooting incident.

Officers located a deceased juvenile victim. While on scene, officers were notified of a second location with two additional juvenile shooting victims with non-life threatening injuries.

Through further investigation, officers were able to identify a juvenile suspect, who was taken into custody.

Because of the victims’ and suspect’s ages, their names will not be released to the public.

The Pageland Police Department recognizes the sensitivity and seriousness of this case, and while the investigation is ongoing, no further information will be disclosed at this time.
