Sheriff’s Office investigating social media threat after drive-by shooting death

On Monday, Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a social media post regarding possible retaliation shootings at New Heights Middle and Central High Schools.
In a release, Chesterfield County School District officials said the post has not been proven, and law enforcement is investigating the threat.
The post was made after a drive-by shooting in the Pageland area on Jan. 26 resulted in the death of a 13-year-old male.
Sheriff Cambo Streater said extra law enforcement has been placed at both schools, and the safety of students and staff is a top priority.
“We will continue to monitor the situation,” he said.
The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking the public’s help for information after a drive-by shooting in the Pageland area.
The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, on Bennett Road.
Streater said a 13-year-old male was struck by one of the rounds and killed.
“We are investigating with the State Law Enforcement Division and the Chesterfield County Coroner’s Office,” he said.
