Person dies after ATV crash

A person died after an ATV collided with an animal on Friday, Aug. 2.
According to Master Trooper William Bennett of the South Caroling Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 9:50 p.m. Aug. 2 on Crowley Road, five miles north of Patrick.
A Honda ATV, with a driver and passenger on it, was traveling east on Crowley Road.
Bennett said an animal was in the roadway, and the ATV struck the animal, which caused it to roll over.
The driver was not injured. The passenger was transported to Carolina Pines Hospital and later died as a result of their injuries.
Bennett said the collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
