Closings, cancellations and events rescheduled due to Tropical Storm Debby

Here are some closings, cancellations and updates due to Tropical Storm Debby’s expected impacts in Chesterfield County and the area. This list will be updated.
SCHOOLS
Chesterfield County School District will have an early release at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 6 to ensure that all students and staff can return home safely before any severe weather arrives.
CCSD will have an e-learning day on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Students will be expected to participate in virtual learning activities. Primary students will be provided with an e-learning packet. Elementary, middle, and high school students will receive assignments and expectations through online platforms, which they can access with their Chromebooks.
Chesterfield County School District has rescheduled the Parent’s Night for the Young Scholars Program with NETC to Monday, August 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Media Center at Palmetto Learning Center.
McBee High School Senior portraits scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 8, have been cancelled. They are working with the photographer on a new date and will post information as soon as details are finalized.
MEETINGS
The Patrick Town Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Patrick Recreation Building, located behind the Patrick Rescue Squad Building on U.S. Highway #1.
The McBee Town Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m.
The Chesterfield Town Council meeting scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 8 has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m.
EVENTS
The Stop Teen and Gun Violence event scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Pageland Community Center, located at 1113 McGregor St.
SERVICES/CLOSINGS
Reformation Church, located at 3050 Chesterfield Highway in Cheraw, will not have Wednesday night service on Aug. 7.
Rose Memorial Nazarene, located at 1005 North Pearl Street in Pageland, will not have Wednesday night service and activities on Aug. 7.
The White Plains Golf Club golf course is closed due to heavy rain and will reopen on Saturday, Aug. 10.
