SLED is investigating incident involving SRO at Cheraw Primary

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating an incident involving a school resource officer at Cheraw Primary School.
Chesterfield County Sheriff Cambo Streater said he requested SLED to investigate the complaint.
SLED officials confirmed that Streater requested them to investigate an incident involving deputy DeWayne Gillespie while he was on duty on Thursday, Aug. 15.
Renee Wunderlich, SLED’s director of public information, said SLED’s investigation is active and ongoing, and no other information is available.
