Man barricaded in home in Pageland, public asked to avoid area

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and area law enforcement are still on the scene of an active situation in Pageland that started during the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 21.
At this time, SLED officials are asking the public to avoid the intersection of Sale Barn Lane and S.C. Highway 9 in Pageland for their safety.
SLED officials stressed that the active situation is contained to this general location.
SLED and other law enforcement are on the scene where an armed man has barricaded himself in a home on Sale Barn Lane.
Officials said SLED SWAT had been in negotiations with the man throughout the night, and those negotiations continue.
SLED was requested to investigate an officer-involved shooting in Chesterfield County regarding the armed man.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
