The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the four inmates who escaped from the Chesterfield County Detention Center in the early hours of Tuesday, Oct. 15.
The four inmates are Deshawn Malik Fox, Kyonne Marquise McLeod, Emanuel Rondon Planco, and Anton Conway Bennett.
Fox was at the detention center for assault and battery third-degree, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and accessory before, and after the fact. McLeod was at the detention center for general sessions bench warrants; Planco for possession of a stolen vehicle; and Bennett for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Chesterfield County Sheriff Cambo Streater said the four escaped between 11 p.m. and midnight.
“It appears they had help from an outside source, and we are investigating,” he said. “We are investigating what happened, exactly how it happened, and how we can fix it.”
Streater emphasized they were using all resources available to find the four inmates such as the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and other agencies.
“I would like for the public to know we do not think any of them are around the Chesterfield area,” said Streater. “We have information they were picked up and they are not in the area, but we are using the Fugitive Task Force and SLED to help track them down, and we will get them.”
Anyone with information about the inmates is asked to contact the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (843) 287-0235.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time,” said Streater.
