Tracy Sheppard

Charles Boyd Allen III

An large scale drug investigation led by Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics with the assistance from the South Carolina Office of the Inspector General, Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, United States Probation Office, and the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team resulted in the execution of a search warrant on a building leased by McBee resident Charles Boyd Allen III in McBee.
According to Sheriff Cambo Streater, Allen was charged with manufacturing marijuana, trafficking fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and trafficking methamphetamine.
Streater noted Allen was currently on federal probation for unrelated offenses, which may further complicated his legal situation.

Items located on the property were included 100 marijuana plants; three and half pounds of processed marijuana; 29 grams of methamphetamine (commonly referred to as “ice”); four and half grams of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid; and drones and parts used to assemble undetectable drones, which were likely intended to drop contraband into federal and state correctional facilities, were seized.
Following the search of Allen’s property, authorities executed a second search warrant at Tracy Sheppard’s residence in McBee.
Sheppard was charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
“This investigation was the result of tireless work by our Chesterfield County Narcotics Division, along with our federal and state partners,” said Streater.  “The seizure of these dangerous drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine, is a major blow to the drug trade in our community. We are committed to doing everything in our power to disrupt these illegal activities and protect our residents from the devastating effects of these substances.”
He added that the use of drones to smuggle contraband into correctional facilities is a growing concern.
“And we’re doing everything we can to stay ahead of these tactics,” said Streater. “This operation, along with the arrests of individuals like Charles Boyd Allen III and Tracy Sheppard, shows that we will not tolerate drug trafficking and criminal activity in Chesterfield County.”
Streater emphasized the importance of community involvement and urged residents to report suspicious activity by contacting the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (843)287-0235 and help authorities continue to take action against the illegal drug trade.
