Four adults, seven teenagers charged in connection to the death of a nine-year-old

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has released information about the 11 individuals involved in connection with the death of nine-year-old boy in the Pageland area of Chesterfield County on Sunday, Sept. 28.
“Our community is grieving the loss of a child, and we share in that grief,” said Sheriff Cambo Streater. “This tragedy shows how quickly violence can destroy families and harm an entire neighborhood. We must come together, parents, schools, faith leaders, and law enforcement to guide our young people toward better choices and to prevent senseless acts like this from happening again.”
Deputies responded to a shooting incident in a convenience store parking lot along Highway 9 in Pageland. Once on scene, officials discovered the incident resulted in the death of a nine-year-old child from the Pageland area of Chesterfield County.
Charges filed:
-Raven Nicole Deese, 35, four counts of unlawful neglect toward a child, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, homicide by child abuse, assault and battery by mob resulting in death; breach of peace high and aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
-James Franklin Langley, 37, four counts of unlawful neglect toward a child, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, homicide by child abuse, assault and battery by mob resulting in death; breach of peace high and aggravated nature.
-Juvenile, 14, assault and battery by mob resulting in death, breach of peace high and aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
-Juvenile, 15, assault and battery by mob resulting in death, and breach of peace high and aggravated nature.
-Juvenile 1.2.3.4 and 5: (ages 13-16), murder, assault and battery by mob resulting in death, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a person under 18, breach of peace high and aggravated nature, assault and battery first degree, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
-Bryson Lee Deese, 17 at the time of the incident and charged as an adult, murder, assault and battery by mob resulting in death, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person under 18, breach of peace high and aggravated nature, assault and battery first degree, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
-James Allen Jordan, 28, murder, assault and battery by mob resulting in death, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, felon in possession of a firearm, breach of peace high and aggravated nature, assault and battery first degree, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Streater said the  Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office extended its deepest gratitude to the McBee and Pageland Police Departments for their willingness to assist in every way possible, as well as EMS and Fire personnel for their invaluable support.
“We also thank the SLED Crime Scene Unit, Special Victims Unit, and the Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office for their guidance and expertise throughout this investigation,” he said. “Complex cases such as this are time-consuming and require thorough, coordinated efforts, and their successful resolution depends on the dedication and collaboration of all agencies involved.”
Streater added that this remains an active investigation and wants the community to know that this case was not connected to any of the previous shootings in the Pageland area.
