Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle crash on SC 9

A motorcyclist died Tuesday, Oct. 14, after a crash occurred on SC Highway 9 near Gopher Hill Road, near Cheraw.
According to Corporal Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 6:30 p.m. and involved a single vehicle—a 2004 BMW motorcycle.
Pye said the motorcycle was traveling southbound on SC 9 when it went off the right side of the road and overturned. No other vehicles were involved. The operator of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
