Clara Marie Livingston Rollins
August 4, 1943 – May 6, 2026
To her family she was Clara, Mama, and Aunt Clara. To her grandchildren she was Granny — and sometimes “Barbie,” because she loved to dress up, never wore the same outfit twice, and always looked put-together with her hair perfectly curled. Small in stature but with a personality that filled every room, Clara lit up every space she entered with a vibrant smile that made strangers feel like family the moment she walked in. She loved Jesus deeply, and she loved her husband fiercely — nearly 64 years of marriage and that devotion never wavered. That same love poured out into everyone around her. No one left her table hungry, and she baked a homemade layer cake or lemon pie for every birthday, bringing them to restaurants and making sure everyone got a slice — including total strangers nearby, because that was simply who she was. Any occasion was a reason to gather, celebrate, and love on the people around her.
Mrs. Clara Marie Livingston Rollins of Cheraw, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the family she adored. Born on August 4, 1943, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Janie Lewis Livingston Moore. She was raised in McFarlan, North Carolina, and was an accomplished student at Morven High School, where she played basketball and earned a place in the National Honor Society.
A faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Clara served as a choir member, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and Sunday school teacher for many years. Alongside her husband of nearly 64 years, Robert Carrison Rollins, she served as a missionary through the Southern Baptist Convention, traveling to Chicago, Pennsylvania, Guatemala, India, and Nicaragua to share her faith and her heart with the world.
Throughout her career, Clara retired from INA Bearing after more than 55 years of dedicated service. She also worked as a sales representative for World Book Encyclopedias, Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, building lasting friendships everywhere she went. Outside of work, she loved camping, cycling, and walking for miles along the beach. She had a particular weakness for a good red dot clearance sale — and for ice cream, which she enjoyed every single night without exception, a tradition she happily passed down to her grandchildren. Above all else, she cherished her grandchildren and the irreplaceable joy of being their Granny.
Mrs. Rollins now goes to be reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Melissa Rollins Jordan, who passed away on February 11, 2026, as well as her parents; her mother’s late husband, Charlie Moore; sisters Robbie Goodwin and husband J.W., and Jackie White; brothers Edd Livingston and wife Carolyn, and Jimmy Livingston; brother-in-law Adam F. Causey; niece Jacquelyn White; and nephew Edward Livingston, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Carrison Rollins; daughter Carisa Rollins (Jamie) Huggins of Cheraw, South Carolina; son-in-law Lonnie Jordan of Cherry Grove Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren Maggie Marie Jordan and husband Jeremy Peters of New York City, Jessie Nicole Jordan of North Myrtle Beach, and Carie Grace Huggins, Allie Catherine Huggins, and Noah Jamison Huggins, all of Cheraw; sister Margaret L. Sellers of Tabor City, North Carolina; sister-in-law Evangelist Jane Livingston of Monroe, North Carolina; brother-in-law Julian White of McFarlan, North Carolina; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Crescent Hospice, Dr. Travis Novinger and the Palmetto Family Medicine staff, and caregivers Jeanette Johnson and Kathleen Hooper for their exceptional care and compassion.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hopewell Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Hart and Evangelist Jane Livingston officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the International Mission Board of the South Carolina Baptist Convention at www.imb.org.
