Kidnapping resulted in death of child

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has just released more information about an assault and kidnapping that occurred around 2 p.m. May 29 on Jackson Road East outside of Chesterfield.

We’re sad to report the body of the infant has been found. 

Deputies responding to the scene performed a search of the area, finding the body of the infant hidden inside a diaper box about 1,000 yards from the home.

The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are assisting in the investigation.
