McBee Town Council special meeting cancelled
McBee Mayor John Campolong earlier today cancelled the special McBee Town Council that was scheduled for Aug. 12, as decided by council at its regular meeting Aug. 6.
Shilon Green, erstwhile candidate for McBee Town Council, has appealed the Aug. 2 decision of the McBee Municipal Election Commission, which declared Kemp McLeod and Glenn Odom as the top two vote-getters of last September’s council election.
Based on that information, council previously decided to meet Aug. 12 to consider the ramifications of Green’s appeal.
Neither McLeod nor Odom has been sworn into council. In the meantime, McLeod continues to sit on council based on the results of the Sep. 2014 council election while the results of the 2018 election remain pending. Campolong, in addition to council members Bea Bolton and Charlie Sutton, currently comprise the rest of council, as has been the case for nearly a year.
More information will be posted to Breaking News as details become available.
