Pageland declares state of emergency, enacts curfew

Pageland Town Council declared a state of emergency and enacted a curfew in a special meeting this afternoon.

The curfew is consistent with the one enacted by the county and is effective from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., effective tonight, and continuing until such time as the emergency activities in the town of Pageland are no longer necessary or town council ends the curfew, whichever occurs first.

The curfew does not apply to travel to/from work, medical providers, pharmacies, grocery stores, similar locations or any other essential business as may be designated by the governor of the state of South Carolina or the Department of Homeland Security, nor is the curfew an order that any business, industry, etc., close during the curfew hours.

More information will be posted to Breaking News as details become available.
