Gale-force winds hit Jefferson
Gale force winds roared through Jefferson early this morning and knocked down dozens of trees.
Shown here is the home of Jefferson Mayor Chuck Raley, who was woken at about 3:45 a.m. when these trees caused major damage to his residence. Raley fortunately escaped unscathed. He was the only person in the house when the trees came down.
Chesterfield County Emergency Management and the American Red Cross are currently conducting damage assessment in the town with the intent to identify families who may need assistance.
