Peggy Sikes Caldwell
PAGELAND – Mrs. Peggy Sikes Caldwell, 77, of Pageland, SC passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at her home in Pageland, SC. Mrs. Peggy Sikes Caldwell was born on January 31, 1943 in Pageland, South Carolina to the late J.C. Sikes and Louise Jordan Sikes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Caldwell Jr. Peggy was an order clerk for Lynches River Electric Cooperative for 37 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pageland and loved to work in her flower garden. Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her daughters, Robin C. Terry (Butch) of Pageland, SC and Kim C. Oliver (Tony) of Jefferson, SC; sister-in-law, Elaine Duncan (Richard) of Union, SC; four grandchildren, Dustin Terry of Pageland, SC, Paige Terry of Ruby, SC, Colt Oliver (Skye) and Callie Oliver both of Sallisaw, OK and four great grandchildren. Anyone could stop by Baumgartner Funeral Home on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to sign the register book and pay their respects. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service was held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery with Dr. Joel Dale officiating. Burial followed at First Baptist Church of Pageland Cemetery. The family will be meeting other times at Peggy Caldwell’s House. Richard Powell Deese

CHERAW – Richard Powell Deese, 60, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his home. Born in Cheraw, SC, he was a son of the late Katherine Eddins Deese and Powell McGoogan Deese. He worked for Carolina Canners. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Denver Broncos Football and NASCAR.

Surviving is his wife, Karen Hope Deese of Cheraw, SC, daughters, Angie Sessoms of Laurinburg, NC, Leeza Deese Brewington of Cowpens, SC, Jessica Frazier of Cheraw, SC, Lacy Haire of Hartsville SC, a son, Richard Deese Jr of McColl SC, a sister, Sheila Fite of Cassatt, SC, a brother, Randy Deese of Wallace, SC and thirteen grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above and a sister, Melissa Jackson.

The family received friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A memorial service was held 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

Vickie Jones

CHERAW – Vickie Jones, widow of Dewey Jones, Jr. entered into eternal rest on January 16, 2021. Born in Lancaster, SC she was a daughter of the late William Lawson and Mary Jane Adams Knight. She was preceded in death by a daughter Beckie Gordon, her parents listed above and a brother Kenneth Knight.

Surviving are her sons, Michael Schoen of Garner, NC, David Schoen of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Brianna Schoen, Lori Evans, Keith Evans, great grandchildren, Kenzi Evans, Kelsi Evans, a brother, Jerry Knight of Lancaster, SC, sisters, Nancy Scott, Cecelia Cauthen and Ann Kirkley all of Lancaster, SC.

A graveside service was held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.

Harry Rivers

CHESTERFIELD – Harry Rivers, 68, died on Monday, January 11, 2021. A graveside service was held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2PM from the Chesterfield Community Cemetery, Chesterfield, SC. He was born to the late Cecil and Lottie Pegues Rivers in Chesterfield, SC on November 21, 1952. Survivors:

his wife, Priscilla Ratliff Rivers; daughters, Theressa Rivers (Preston McManus), Bernice Scott (Timothy), Amanda Rivers (Jermaine Lilly), all of Cheraw, SC; sons, Harry Rivers (Nicholle) of Meriden CT and Lavern Rivers (Tammy) of Cheraw SC; sisters, Louise Evans of New Haven CT, Mary Johnson, Myrtle Lee Johnson (David) both of Chesterfield SC, Betty Lou Rivers of New Haven CT and Roberta Lewis of Chesterfield SC; brother, Ulysses Rivers (Barbara Ann) of Chesterfield SC, 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sarah Perkins Therrell

CHERAW – Sarah Perkins Therrell, 75, died Monday, January 11, 2021. Born in Marlboro County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Lucy Hubbard Perkins. She was the widow of Jerome “Jerry” Therrell. She was a retired math teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church of Cheraw, SC.

She is survived by a son, Joseph B. (Stacy Deering) Therrell, of Front Royal, VA, a daughter, Marsha (Joe) Therrell Gentry, of Cheraw, SC, a granddaughter, Joanna Gentry and a niece, Alison Hoban of Macon, GA.

A graveside service was held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2020 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church cemetery.

The family received friends following the service.

Lillian Avis White

WALLACE – Lillian Avis White, 85, died Sunday, January 10, 2021. Born in Clio, SC she was a daughter of the late Jessie D and Margaret Ora Wilkins Clark. She was the widow of Everette White. She was a member of Wallace Baptist Church, enjoyed music, and was in the church choir. She lovingly was a caretaker for her husband for over 17 years and for her son for over 55+ years.

Surviving are her sons, Danny (Marian) White of Rockingham, NC, Wayne White of Wallace, SC, a daughter, Diane (Tom) Cummings of Wallace, SC, grandchildren Robyn Cummings, Angie Cummings, Tommy (Christie) Cummings, Erin (Eric) White, Kelly (Jessica) White, great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cheyenne, Caitlyn, Keith, Chaz, Alex, Abbie, Ethan, Grayson, also, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, also, a brother, Cameron Clark, sisters, Mary Bowen, Vivian Crowley, Lula Parker, Glennis White and Reva Mumford and a special friend, Jasper Burr.

A Celebration of Life was held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Wallace Baptist Church, Wallace, SC with burial in the church cemetery. The family received friends following the service.
