Geoffrey R. Griffin
Mr. Geoffrey R. Griffin, age 35, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 17, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, November 28, 2021 at St. David’s Church in Cheraw, SC by Reverend Mary Ellen Doran with inurnment to follow in the Old St. David’s Cemetery. The family will greet friends inside the historic Old St. David’s Church immediately following the committal service.
Mr. Griffin was born January 24, 1986 in Cheraw, SC, a son of Claudia Griffin-Brown and the late Benjamin Randolph Griffin. Geoffrey worked as a facilities quality auditor at McEntire Foods in Columbia. He was a 2004 graduate of Cheraw High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Wofford College in 2008. Geoffrey was also an avid USC Gamecocks fan.
In addition to his father, Mr. Griffin was also preceded in death by a paternal aunt and uncle, Gloria & Bill Luckey; and cousin, Will Luckey.
Survivors include his daughter, Saiya Lu Griffin and her mother and Geoffey’s wife, Chi Griffin of Centreville, VA; mother, Claudia (Brian) Griffin-Brown of Cheraw, SC; sisters, Eliza Griffin and Emily Griffin; step-sisters, Tara (Jason) Garrick, and Shana Lane; paternal aunts and uncles, Lynette Gershon, and Raymond W. (Tom) Griffin; maternal aunts and uncles; Cathie (Jerry) Lewis, and Claude L. “Buddy” (Diane) Burr; cousins, Beth (Greg) McCoy, Jeff (Karina) Luckey, Alex Gershon, Katie Gershon, Clayton Lewis, and Tina (Brian) Hodge; in addition to his entire work family at McEntire Foods.

Harrison J. Hutchinson Jr.
CHERAW – Harrison J. Hutchinson, Jr., entered into rest on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Born, April 28, 1947, in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of the late Harrison J., Sr. and Irene Webb Hutchinson. He was a Disabled Veteran of the US Army, serving his country proudly during the Vietnam Era as a helicopter mechanic. Harrison enjoyed motorcycle riding, mechanical work, and gardening. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will always be remembered as a hardworking provider who loved his family. He was a graduate of Chesterfield-Marlboro Technical College. He was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church for more than 28 years, holding many positions to include, Sunday School Superintendent, class president, and a very dedicated cook of the Westside Baptist Men’s monthly breakfast.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joyce Lane Hutchinson of Cheraw, SC, a daughter, Bridgit (Barry) McLeod of Cheraw, SC, step-daughters, Joy Danyale (Arthur) Bethea, and Winifred Dawn (Robert) Legette, an adopted sister, Cheryl (David) Watkins, brothers, Donald (Nancy) Hutchinson and Murrell (Judy) Hutchinson, both of Wallace, SC; grandchildren, Landon (Allison) McLeod, Zachary McLeod, Holden McLeod, Sierra Moore, Ryan Moore, Deanna (Ben) Tedder and Matthew (Madison) Owens; and great-grandchildren, Zayne McMurry, Raelynn Owens and McKinsey Owens.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above.
The family received friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Westside Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC.
A memorial service was held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Westside Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC. Inurnment followed at 1:00 p.m. at the Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC.

Cecil Parker Kirkley
PAGELAND – Mr. Cecil Parker Kirkley, age 81, entered into rest on Friday, November 19, 2021. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church by Reverends Dr. Lindsey Powell and Dr. Roger Wall with burial following in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2021 in the sanctuary of Providence Baptist Church.
Mr. Kirkley was born February 16, 1940 in Pageland, SC a son of the late Snyder Parker and Jeanette Evans Kirkley. He was a retired employee of Pageland Screen Printers and a former employee of Springs Industries. A faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, Cecil served as a former Deacon, member of the Finance Committee, and enjoyed singing in the adult choir for many years. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was a loyal Clemson Tigers fan, a long-time supporter of the Central Eagles Athletic Department, and was known to occasionally wear a Los Angeles Dodgers cap. His favorite pastime was mowing grass all over the neighborhood.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kirkley was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Kirkley Moore; and his brother-in-law, Stanley Catoe.
Survivors include his wife, Aileen J. Kirkley of the home; children, Kim Kirkley (Garry) Hines of Wilmington, NC, Karla Kirkley (Sammy Funderburk) Broome of Pageland, SC, and Kevin Parker (Samantha) Kirkley of Fort Mill, SC; step-son, Scott (Rose) Jenkins of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Tiffany (Bryan) Faulkenberry of Pageland, SC, Evan Sims of Cheraw, SC, Kirk (Alisha) Sims of Hartsville, SC, Jerrica (Taylor) Phiefer of Pageland, SC, Jason Hines, Jamie Hines (Wes) Dodson, and Joshua Hines all of Wilmington, NC, Taylor (Rae) Broome of Simpsonville, SC, and Lucas Broome of Pageland, SC; great grandchildren, Landon, Brantley, Trent, Dawson, Paetyn, Arbor, Charlie, Harper, Cameron, and Parker; sister, Delores Kirkley Catoe of the Middendorf community; niece, Julie Catoe (John) Sims of Chesterfield, SC, and their children, Lea, Caden, and Parker.

Jimmy Louis Wright
JEFFERSON – Reverend Jimmy Louis Wright, 66, died Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Funeral services were held, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 3PM from the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Pageland, SC. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He was born August 9, 1955 in Pageland, SC to the late William and Faralee Louallen Wright. Survivors: his daughter: Lakischa Wright; siblings: Betty Robinson, Bobby Wright (Dorothy), Curtis Wright (Mildred), Roger Wright (Yolanda), all of Jefferson, SC; Frankie Wright (Vivian), Don Wright (Sherry), Ann Johnson (Calvin), Terry Wright all of Pageland, SC; Franklin Wright, of Monroe, NC; and Peaches Wright of Charlotte, NC.
