Linda F. Johnson
CAMDEN – Our Mother & Matriarch of our family, Linda Faye Johnson, of Camden, South Carolina, was welcomed into Heaven and into her mother’s arms on the morning of March 11th, 2022. She was the mother of six children, whom she called her life’s greatest accomplishment.
She is survived by her six children Jessica Branham Jay (Jason), Kelsey Branham Kinsey (James “JB”), Abish Branham Meldrum (John), Kenton Seth Branham (Madison), Emma Branham Mattingly (Grant), and her baby boy Ayken Riley Branham. Also, four grandchildren, Gentry, Sutton, Krauss and her namesake Marrett JoLin Jay.
Our Mom was a school bus driver for the Kershaw County School District for 19 years and during that time she was a mother not just to us, but to all of the children that she transported. We called the school bus her “happy place.”
Our Mama was a true ray of sunshine, but she was also feisty, fearless, selfless, stubborn, and strong even up until the end of her battle with cancer. She had a smile that was contagious, and everytime she smiled or laughed, her eyes would close, and she couldn’t see a thing. Her sense of humor never left, and she kept us laughing and smiling even on the hardest days. She enjoyed working in her garden, crafting, and being creative. She loved hard and cherished helping others throughout her life. She loved the lake and spending time with her family and her blood hound, Sunny Bun, on her pontoon boat.
We will miss her immensely but are grateful to have had such a wonderful Mother. Our family received friends for her visitation service on Monday, March 14th, 2022, from 6-8 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ridgeway Ward, located at 1391 Centerville Road, Ridgeway SC 29130.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 2022, at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Camden Ward, located at 34 Chestnut Ferry Road, Camden, SC 29020.
There will be a private graveside service for the family only at a later date.
