Randy Brigman

RUBY – Mr. Randy Brigman, age 57, entered into rest on Monday, November 7, 2022 with his family by his side. Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Reverend Walter “Lil Walter” Brigman, Jr. with burial following in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the chapel.

Mr. Brigman was born July 6, 1965 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Robert Lee Brigman, Sr. and Margie Rae Perdue Brigman. He was employed as a caretaker with the farm at Acadian Falls and was truly a “Jack of all trades.” Randy was very talented in all types of construction. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, and restoring his 1986 GMC truck to pristine condition. Of all things that Randy put his heart and energy into, nothing was more important than his years of faithfully taking care of his mother.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brigman was also preceded in death by his siblings, Norman Brigman, Thomas “Eddie” Brigman, Dana R. Lisenby, Bruce Brigman, and Robert L. Brigman, Jr.; nephews, Ryan Martin, and Scottie Brigman; brothers-in-law, Chris Roscoe and Carol Morton; sisters-in-law, Patricia Brigman, Jeanette Brigman, and Tracy Brigman.

Survivors include his siblings, Walter Brigman of Chesterfield, SC; David (Louise) Brigman of Chesterfield, SC, Beauford Brigman of Chesterfield, SC, Betty (Grady) Atkinson of Ruby, SC, Brenda (Tommy) Martin of Ruby, SC, and Margaret Morton of Ruby, SC; sister of the heart, Laura (Justin) Beasley; sister-in-law, Vivian Brigman of Ruby, SC; nieces and nephews, Walter (Kelly) Brigman, Jr., Daniel (Megan) Brigman, Krista Roscoe, Renee (Tony Campbell) Atkinson, Sheila (Travis) Honeycutt, Heather (Brandon) Truesdale, Chris Roscoe, Michael Roscoe, Ashley (Don Gulledge) Roscoe, Susan (Tony) Melton, Teresa (Rodney) Elvis, Dawn (Jason) Terry, Daronda (Bryan) Price, Denise Brigman, Lynn Brigman, Stacey Brigman, and Andy (Christy) Gaddy; great nephews and nieces, Richard (Jennifer) Gaddy, Perry Brigman, Molly Brigman, Alyssa Honeycutt, Alivia Honeycutt, Cayden Campbell, Trisha Leidig, Kamryn Leidig, Trent Deese, Patrick Roscoe, Emory Roscoe, Annie Roscoe, Clayton Roscoe, Jase Roscoe, Emma Roscoe, Ava Roscoe, Blake Elvis, Will Terry, Brantlee Terry, Cadence Price, Drew Price, Hannah Ross, Brianna Lee, Tyler Brigman, Britt Tarlton, Stacey Oliver, Thomas Oliver, Rebecca Brigman, Alana Brigman, Jonathan Brigman, and Jesse Brigman; brother of the heart, Johnny Black; special neighbors, Gina & Tom Zompanis; special friends, Billy Allen, Jamie Melton, and Stacy Lynn Beaver.

Sondra Caulder Chavis

CHERAW – Mrs. Sondra Caulder Chavis, 59, died on Monday, November 7, 2022.  Born, August 30, 1963, in Cheraw, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Peter and Willie Mae Burr Caulder. She was a member of First Southern Methodist Church in Cheraw, SC. Sondra enjoyed gardening and attending pageants with her granddaughter.

Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Caulder; brother-in-law, Henry Crawford; and a niece, Selena Crawford.

Sondra leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 30 years, John W. “Jay” Chavis, Jr. of the home; sons, Cody Chavis and wife, Allie of Cheraw, SC, and Billy Chavis of Cheraw, SC; a daughter, Courtney Caulder of Cheraw, SC; a sister, Judy Caulder Crawford of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Cameron Caulder, Caylee Webb, Caleb Webb, and Eden Chavis; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Kiser Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cheraw, SC.

The family received friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cheraw Healthcare for the love and care that they showed Sondra.

William Larry Menzo

CHESTERFIELD – Reverend William Larry Menzo, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2022 with his family by his side. Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Michael Davis, Rev. Michael Causey, and Rev. Tony Edwards with burial following in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music was provided by the Hodge family, Pastor Tommy Moser, and sister Crystal Jenkins.

The family greeted friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Reverend Menzo was born February 6, 1945 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Thelma Smith. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and Holmes Theological Seminary. He also attended Coker College. Bro. Larry accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as a young man and surrendered to the call to preach at an early age. He was an ordained Bishop in the Church of God and faithfully served the following churches as pastor, Society Hill Church of God, Jackson Church of God, Graniteville Church of God, and Bishopville Church of God. Following his retirement from the pastorate, Bro. Larry was an active member of the Chesterfield Church of God. He was an encouragement to his pastor and was always willing to serve in any capacity. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school and singing with his wife. Bro. Larry was very instrumental in constructing the new sanctuary and parsonage of Chesterfield Church of God. His greatest passion was sharing the good news of his Lord and Savior to everyone he came in contact with. He also enjoyed going to auctions looking for a deal, traveling to the mountains with his family, and writing a weekly column for the Chesterfield Advertiser.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Gloria Edwards Menzo of the home; daughter, Christy Menzo Rhodes and husband, Jamie of Cheraw, SC; and grandson, Daniel J. Rhodes.
