Ashley Jean Hinson Evett

Ms. Ashley Jean Hinson Evett, age 37, entered into rest on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery by Brent Taylor. The family received friends between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00 PM at her father’s home in McBee, SC.

Ms. Evett was born August 29, 1985 in Monroe, NC a daughter of J.S. Hinson, Jr. and the late Barbara Rogers Fury. Ashley attended Central High School and was a former employee of Wal-Mart and Grits and Groceries. She grew up attending Macedonia Baptist Church. A young lady who enjoyed life, Ashley was always on the go and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Evett was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents that helped raise her, Earl & Amo Jean Jenkins Johnson.

Survivors include her father, J.S. (Teresa) Hinson, Jr. of McBee, SC; siblings, J.S. “Jay” (Jessica) Hinson, Melissa (Jeff) Moser, Susan Annette Reynolds, Darrel (Autumn) Walters; special friend, Bobby Moree; in addition to a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lillian Inez Goodman

Ms. Lillian Inez Goodman, age 81, entered into rest on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the McLeod Hospice House. The family will announce a memorial service at a later date. Friends and family may call at the home of her daughter, Lisa Zahler.

Ms. Goodman was born August 26, 1941 in Mauldin, SC a daughter of the late Malvin and Lillian Green. She was a retired employee of Protective Life Insurance Company and a member of Roper Mountain Baptist Church of Greenville, SC. Inez enjoyed reading, working in her flowers, traveling to the beach, and watching her favorite shows on tv, The Young and the Restless, and HGTV. She will be fondly remembered as a lady who loved her family deeply and was a proud “Gammy” to her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Goodman was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ann Green; and brothers, John Green and Lee Green.

Survivors include her children, Lisa Zahler (Tim Burch) of Chesterfield, SC, Brandon (Maria) Bray of Summerville, SC, and Bryan (Diane) Bray of Clayton, NC; grandchildren, Grant (Megan) Zahler, Megan (Wes) Emory, Caleb Dowghty, Chelsea (Chase) James, Corbin Bray, Collin Bray, Robin Bray, and Noah Bray; great grandchildren, Logan, Kyler, Braylin, Easton, and Waylon; brother, Don Green of Greenville, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, “S.O.S. Group,” 3154 Hwy 102, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
