Katherine ‘Kathy’ Wells Reagan Harrold

Katherine “Kathy” Wells Reagan Harrold, died peacefully on the evening of Wednesday January 3rd with her family by her side at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC.

Kathy was born May 11, 1948, in San Diego, CA to James E. Reagan, Sr. and Mary Wells Griggs Reagan. She graduated from North Forsyth Senior High School in 1966. She received a B.F.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1970. After a brief tenure as an elementary art teacher in Sarasota, Florida she returned to Richmond, VA to complete her M.A. degree at The Presbyterian School of Christian Education.

Kathy served as Director of Christian Education (DCE) at several churches in Virginia and North Carolina before completing her M.A. in Recreational Therapy at The University of North Carolina, Greensboro. In recreational therapy Kathy found her calling working for a time at Forsyth Memorial Hospital – Novant Health System in Winston- Salem and more than 20 years at Senior Services (The Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center) in Winton-Salem, NC. Kathy loved her time at Senior Services, sharing her talents and building many long-lasting friendships.

Kathy and husband of 22 years James “Michael” Harrold were active members of Clemmons Presbyterian Church. They both enjoyed reading, travel, and spending time with their cats El Gato and Squigget. Kathy also had a passion for genealogy and spent many years collecting, curating, and detailing the lineage and stories associated with her ancestry. All who knew Kathy experienced her as loyal, dedicated and compassionate. She will be greatly missed by all who know her.

Kathy was preceded in death by husband Michael Harrold. Those left to hold dear the memories are stepdaughter Michelle Stroebel (Robert), sisters Karen Clary (Jud) of Winston-Salem, NC, Kelly Reagan of Duluth, GA, and brother James (Jim) Reagan (Cynthia) of Chattanooga, TN, father and mother-in-law James and Sue Brown Harrold, sisters-in-law Kathy Hincher (Linney), Melissa Holbrook (Dan),nephews, grandnieces), brothers in law, Jeffrey Harrold (Tammy), David Harrold (Tressie), grandchildren, Corbyn and Cadie, and numerous nieces, nephews,  grandnieces and grandnephews.

A memorial service was held at Clemmons Presbyterian Church in Clemmons, NC January 13th at 4:00 pm followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. A graveside service was held Sunday, January 14 at 2:00 pm at Ruby Cemetery in Ruby, SC.  In lieu of flowers, Kathy requested all who care to do so remember her by doing an act of kindness in her memory. Honorariums may also be made to Clemmons Presbyterian Church and/or Senior Services.

Lessie Gainey Linton

CHERAW – Mrs. Lessie Gainey Linton, age 94, entered into rest on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Harris Creek Baptist Church by Pastor Danny Malloy with a service of committal following in the church cemetery. The family greeted friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Linton was born August 25, 1929 in Hartsville, SC a daughter of the late Les and Pearl Windom Gainey. Mrs. Lessie was a hard worker who had many jobs throughout her life but there is none that she enjoyed more than being a homemaker and caretaker for her family. Mrs. Linton was a true southern lady whose country cooking was some of the best around. Lessie also enjoyed working in her flowers and her favorite thing to do, talking on the phone.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Linton was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Linton; sons, Don Wayne “Don the Con” Linton, Bobby Ray Linton, John David Linton; Grandson, Andy Dudley; sister, Willa Mae Dangerfield; brothers, W.J. Gainey, Heyward Gainey, Grady Cole Gainey, Claude Gainey, and Melvin Gainey.

Survivors include her sons, Ronnie (Virginia) Linton of Hartsville, SC, J.C. (Linda) Linton of Wallace, SC, Joey “Juicy” Linton of Society Hill, SC; sister, Carlene (Dave) Alexander of IN; brother, Richard Gainey of Darlington, SC; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Linton to Harris Creek Baptist Church, 356 Harris Creek Church Rd, Society Hill, SC 29593.

Joseph ‘Joey’ Wellington Moore

CHERAW –  Mr. Joseph “Joey” Wellington Moore, age 56, entered into rest on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 11, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial following in the Old St. David’s Cemetery. The family greeted friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Moore was born January 21, 1967 in Cheraw, SC a son of the late Billy Joe and Jane Vernon Moore. He was a retired personnel manager with Sandhills Ambulance Service and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Cheraw. Joey enjoyed golfing, fast cars, all sports, and time spent at the beach with friends. He had a special place in his heart for his pets. Joey will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and the ability to put a smile on anyone’s face.

Survivors include his sister, Teresa (Danny) Richard of Dallas, GA; brother, William (Teresa) Moore of Rockingham, NC; nieces and nephews, Jane (Travis) Hiscutt of Woodstock, GA, Addie (Wesley) Brown of Kennesaw, GA, Will (Jenn) Moore, Jr. of Algonquin, IL, and Cory Benoist of High Point, NC.
