Cydnee Taylor Dutton

PAGELAND – Miss Cydnee Taylor Dutton, age 24, entered into rest on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Pageland, officiated by Pastor Joel Dale. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Miss Dutton was born on June 8, 1999 in Florence, SC to her parents James Thomas Dutton Jr. and Shannon Olivia Love Patrick. She was a graduate of West Florence High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Novant Health Surgery Center. Miss Dutton was a member of First Baptist Church of Pageland. Known for her infectious smile and larger than life personality, she had a unique talent for expressing love and care towards her patients as well as everyone in her life. Her compassionate heart matched her radiant smile perfectly. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, dancing, and bringing laughter to every situation she encountered. Her vibrant personality filled any room she entered.

Miss Dutton is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Steve “Pop” Love; paternal grandfather J.T “Papa Bear” Dutton; uncle Bradley Deese; aunt Brenda Moody; and cousin Zan Malia Deese.

She is survived by her mother Shannon Love (Eddie) Patrick of Florence, SC; father James (Jeanette) Dutton of Jefferson, SC; sister McKenna Dutton of Pageland, SC; step-sister Robin Knight of Jefferson, SC; step-brother Zaiden Patrick of Lamar, SC; maternal grandparents Judy Raffaldt (Jerry) Rivers of Pageland, SC; paternal grandmother Linda Dutton of Ruby, SC; aunts and uncles Stephanie Deese of Pageland, SC, Samantha (Matthew) Catoe of Jefferson, SC, Hilda (Willie) Teal of Southport, NC, Melissa (Jonathan) White of Mt. Croghan, SC, Joseph (Emily) Rivers of Pageland, SC, Leanna Plyler of Monroe, NC, and Carley Eubanks of Pageland, SC; nephews and nieces Gavin Oliver, Alaina Taylor Porter, Daisy Knight, and Lillian Knight; cousins, Brannon and Zaida Deese, Nevaeh and Zander Catoe, Logan Moore, and Megan Cantrell; her mother of the heart Michelle Herron and her children Alea Zerr, Brayden Zerr, and Logan Zerr; as well as a host of special friends including best friends Logan Duvall and Shania “Ni-Ni” Chambers. She also leaves behind her beloved 4-legged companion “Poppy Noodle.”

Wayne Lindsey

CHERAW – Mr. Wayne Lindsey, age 56, entered into rest on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Bro. Ricky Malloy and Brent Taylor with burial following in the Mount Croghan Memorial Park. The family greeted friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Lindsey was born November 10, 1967 in Monroe, NC a son of John E. “Johnny” Lindsey and the late Bonnie Jordan Lindsey. He was a 1986 graduate of Central High School and completed his police officer training from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1995. His career as a police officer spanned over 20 years as he worked with both the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Chesterfield Police Department. He grew up attending First Freewill Baptist Church of Pageland, where he enjoyed singing and worshipping the Lord with his family. Wayne also enjoyed reading, studying, and preaching God’s word. His hobbies included drag racing, tinkering on old cars, fishing, and hunting with his father. Some of his best memories were made camping at the beach with his children, grandchildren, and parents.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Crystal Jordan Lindsey of the home; children, Justin Lindsey of Cheraw, SC, and Anna Lindsey (Stacy) McManus of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Ava & Brantlee McManus, and Sawyer & Davis Lindsey; father, Johnny E. Lindsey of Mt. Croghan, SC; brothers, Timmy (Donna) Lindsey of Ruby, SC, and Rev. Kenneth (Cindy) Lindsey of Chesterfield, SC;  sister, Samantha (Dustin) Ricketts; sisters-in-law, Elaine Wiggins of Cheraw, SC, Jackie (Nathan) Barrett of Kershaw, SC and Marian (Chuck) Warner of Troy, NC; nieces and nephews, Kerri (Matt) Davis, Kayla (Chris) Thompson, and Jordan Ricketts, and Nathan Ricketts; great niece, Lily; and great nephew, Christian.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to hospice nurses Kristen Sellers, Madison Sellers, and the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield for their excellent care and support provided to Wayne and the family.

Barbara McCann Shumate

CHESTERFIELD – Mrs. Barbara McCann Shumate, age 76, entered into rest on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Drake Horton. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Barbara exemplified strength and grace during a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer, and leaves behind her husband of nearly 60 years, Rom, 3 daughters, Terri (Mike) Absher, Michelle Shumate, and Heather (Stuart) Davis, 9 grandchildren, Chad (April) Absher, Elisha (Alex) Moody, Alex (Tori) Hutcherson, David Martin, Brady Hutcherson, Kathryn Martin, Jaymee Hutcherson, Kaycee Hutcherson, and Ellis Davis, and 8 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Chloe, Evie, Xander, Waylon, Cash, J.C., and Alexia, sister Sharon (Tommy) Billings and brother Tony (Annette) McCann of Roaring River, North Carolina.

From her younger days as a talented beautician to her retirement after a decades-long career in banking, she brought smiles to the faces of so many with her kindness and warmth.

Over the years, Barbara spent much of her time supporting her church family and ministering through teaching, music, and laughter. She was able to find joy in all circumstances and lead others to do the same. She never missed an opportunity to show God’s love to others and made many friends along the way.

Barbara’s heart knew no bounds when it came to her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She found immense joy in watching them grow, celebrating their milestones, and sharing wisdom gathered from a life well-lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Glenna McCann and sister, Paula McCann.

The family would like to thank McLeod Hospice and nurse Stacey Beaver, RN for their compassionate care and support.

Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, American Cancer Society for Ovarian Cancer Research, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
