Fonnie ‘Diane’ Burr Freeman

CHERAW – Mrs. Fonnie “Diane” Burr Freeman, age 59, entered into rest on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at her home with her husband by her side. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial following in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Freeman was born March 24, 1965 in Cheraw, SC a daughter of the late J.T. and Louise Burr. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and a former manager of KFC of Cheraw. Diane loved working in her flowers, especially her roses. One of her favorite things was traveling with her husband and choosing their favorite eating places in each town.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 20 years, Billy L. Freeman of the home; children, Chris (Amanda) Malloy, Nicole Malloy, and Taylor Freeman; 5 grandchildren; numerous siblings, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Flowers are welcomed or for those desiring to donate in her memory, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Martha Ruth Timmons Rollings

Mrs. Martha Ruth Timmons Rollings, 84, of Jefferson, South Carolina went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She no longer needs her trusted leg braces because today she is completely healed! Martha was born on November 14, 1939, to the late Joseph Roscoe Timmons and Lillie Mae Mills Timmons. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, the best grandmother, a loving aunt, a treasured friend, and best of all, a child of God. She loved her church, Jefferson First Baptist, she loved family gatherings, sweet conversations with friends, and she loved to laugh. Facebook kept her connected and her love of reading and crossword puzzles never ended. Martha was also an amazing cook, and for as long as she was able, she cooked delicious meals for her family. She will be remembered for her lemon pies, homemade biscuits, salmon patties, country style steak, and her famous grilled cheese sandwiches! Martha’s earthly body was far from perfect. She faced endless physical challenges, but she did have a perfect heart, a treasured gift that only God can give. She shared this gift of love with everyone she met, and she brightened our world with her beautiful smile. Her life was an inspiration to us all. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Albert (Honey) Rollings; brothers, Joe Timmons and Charlie Timmons; sisters, Louise McCray and Faye Curlee; brothers-in-law, Tommy McCray and Billy Curlee; sisters-in-law, Doris Timmons and Mary Lois Timmons, and granddaughter, Sarah Ashley Rollings. Those left to treasure her goodness and celebrate her life include her children, Charlie Benton, Teresa Rollins (Phil), and Craig Benton of Jefferson, South Carolina; brother, Carroll Timmons (Jane) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; step-sons, Al Rollings (Jane), Todd Rollings (Kym), and Ritchie Rollings (Rachel) of Jefferson, South Carolina; grandchildren, Lacey Lowery (Jason), Zane Rollins (Laura), Beau Rollins, Victoria Rollins, Travis Benton, Lynn Rollings (Krystal), Andrew Rollings (Laura), Anna Rollings (Jamie), Joseph Rollings (Kylie), John Ashley Rollings, Ella Rollings, Matthew Rollings, and Paul Rollings; great-grandchildren, Gaige and Grayson Lowery, Seth and Sarah Jane Rollings, Kingston Jackson, Wales Rollings, and Joanna Rollings; children of the heart, Susan and Larry Melton and Monte and Lynn Sullivan; and grandchildren of the heart, Slade, Hart, Trace, and Ryn Melton and Stoan Sullivan. Martha is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and her devoted friends, Donna Johnson, Jennifer Jordan, and Jeralyn Fallaw. The family is very thankful for Gentiva Hospice and Hearts and Hands and would like to express special thanks to Tami Thurman, Renee Barlow, and Joyce Watkins for the exceptional care and love shown to Martha. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service was held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Town Cemetery with Pastor Don Rhyne and Pastor Scott Wilson officiating. The family greeted extended family and friends at the graveside immediately following the service and other times at Martha’s home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 205 East Main Street, Chesterfield, South Carolina 29709. Carolyn Turner

WALLACE – Ms. Carolyn Louise Turner, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on November 24, 1942, in Bennettsville, South Carolina to the late Belvin and Ruth Cranford Turner. Carolyn was a beloved resident of Wallace, South Carolina. She was a dedicated inspector in the textiles industry for most of her professional career.
Carolyn was a remarkable woman who had a deep love for the beach and spent many joyful days working in her yard. Her home church was the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where she found solace and peace. She was known for her culinary skills and shared her love through her cooking. Her immediate family held a special place in her heart. She was loving and fiercely protective of them. The “apples of her eye” were her grandchildren – Alayna, Zachary, Bre, and great-grandchild Tomlin. Even during her hardest days, her grandchildren brought the biggest smile to her face.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents listed above and her brother-in-law, Kenny Osburn.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Amanda Carabo (Doug) of Cheraw, SC, Jim Davis (Stephen Holder) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her grandchildren, Alayna and Zachary Carabo of Cheraw, SC, Bre Andorf (Matthew) of Des Moines, IA; her great-grandchild, Tomlin Andorf; her siblings, Sammy Turner (Sybil) of Bennettsville, SC, D.T. Turner (Judy) of Wallace, SC, Charles Turner of Bennettsville, SC, JoAnne Buckliew of Bennettsville, SC, Mary Ruth Osburn of Wallace, SC, Teresa Ward (Ronnie) of Wallace, SC, Kathy Teal (Mike) of Chesterfield, SC, Lisa Woodley (Ray) of Cheraw, SC; her aunt, Edith Quick of Cheraw, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Betty Hatchell for the wonderful care given to Ms. Carolyn in her time of illness.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Chapel of Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC. The family will receive family and friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Grant-Turner Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 377, Wallace, SC 29596.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Turner family.
