Wayne A. Lambert
Wayne A. Lambert, born September 6, 1945, died at Winchester Medical Center on June 25, 2024, at the age of 78. Known as “Butch”, most everyone in town knew him because when one is 7 feet tall it’s hard to go unnoticed. Butch loved to chat with people, especially about politics and town gossip. Few knew how much he enjoyed classical music and opera. He enjoyed traveling the world on his computer.
Butch was the son of William C. “Ches” and Evelyn Eckhardt Lambert. He was predeceased by his older brother, Jerry F. Lambert. He is survived by his sister, Bonnie L. Williams of Chesterfield, SC; foster son, Ricky Leizear and his daughter, Caroline, of College Park, MD; nephews, Ches (Maribeth) Williams and sons (Ellison and James) of Gainesville, FL and John Williams of Columbia, SC; sister-in-law, Betty Lambert of Woodstock, VA; and nieces, Dawn L. (Michael) Kavaras of Waynesboro, VA and Kim (Buck) Shrum of Woodstock, VA. The loves of his life were Aaliyah Scott and Leigh Lee Dinges, granddaughters of his friend, Bobbi Jo Dinges.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 10th, at Sunset View Memorial Gardens.

Justin Wayne Lindsey
CHERAW – Mr. Justin Wayne Lindsey, age 36, entered into rest on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Corey Joplin, Reverend Tim Williams, and Brent Taylor with burial following in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park. The family received friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the funeral home and other times at the home of his grandmother, Brenda Tucker, 183 Hancock Hill Road, Mt. Croghan, SC.
The funeral service will be streamed live on the Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home Facebook page.
Mr. Lindsey was born on June 20, 1988 in Cheraw, SC, to Rosalind Tucker Johnson and the late Wayne Lindsey. He graduated from Chesterfield High School in 2006 and was employed by VSC Fire & Security. In his formative years, Justin attended Calvary Baptist Church of Jefferson where he was baptized as a young boy. Known for his cheerful disposition and zest for life, Justin embraced each day with enthusiasm. His passion for sports was evident through his love for baseball and softball; he enjoyed sharing memories of being one of the greatest left-handed pitchers to play the game. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, and playing pool. However, above all else in his life’s pursuits, Justin found great pride and joy in becoming a dad, and cherished every moment spent with his children – Sawyer Elizabeth Lindsey and Davis Wayne Lindsey – referring to them as “the best part of him.”
In addition to his father, Justin was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Tucker; and paternal grandmother, Bonnie Lindsey.
Survivors include his children, Sawyer Elizabeth Lindsey, and Davis Wayne Lindsey; and their mother, Lindsay Davis; his mother, Rosalind (Christus) Johnson of Jefferson, SC; sister, Anna (Stacy) McManus of Pageland, SC; maternal grandmother, Brenda Sprinkle Tucker of Mt. Croghan, SC; and paternal grandfather, Johnny Lindsey of Mt. Croghan, SC.
Also surviving are his step-father, John Johnson of Mt. Croghan, SC; step-mother, Crystal Jordan Lindsey of Kershaw, SC; niece, Ava McManus; nephew, Brantlee McManus; uncles, Jason (Michelle) Tucker of Mt. Croghan, SC, Tim (Donna) Lindsey of Ruby, SC, and Rev. Kenneth (Cindy) Lindsey of Chesterfield, SC; in addition to numerous cousins and friends.

David Ray Lowery
CHERAW – David Ray Lowery passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024. He was 66 years old.
Born October 2, 1957, in Marlboro County, David was a son of the late Tom Wesley and Clara Ellen Jacobs Lowery. He was a retired correctional officer with Evans Correctional Institution. David loved the outdoors. He enjoyed cutting grass, riding his motorcycle, and going to the beach. He also enjoyed going out to eat and listening to music.
David was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; wife, Mary Lou Crowley Lowery; brothers, Marvin Thomas Lowery and George Anderson Lowery; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Jackson.
He is survived by his son, David Ray Lowery II (Ciera Johnson) of Cheraw; brothers, Roy Edmond Lowery (Lisa) of Bennettsville, Randy Lowery (Paula) of Clio, Zannie Woodard Jr. of Arizona, and George “Andy “ Lowery of Washington; sister, Martha Jordan (David) of Florence; grandchildren, Jenna Clay and Billy Clay Sr; and 2 great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville.

James Lee Sheppard
CHERAW – James Lee Sheppard, age 73 of Cheraw, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, after an extended illness.
James was born April 22, 1951, in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Alfred and Lizzy Polson Sheppard. James was a law enforcement officer and retired from the Cheraw Police Department after many years of service. James enjoyed going to the movies. He enjoyed all things Christmas, all year-round. He loved Christmas movies and Christmas music. Most of all, James loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed Rogers and Tony Sheppard; and sisters, Peggy Thomas and Mildred Herndon.
James is survived by his wife, Marie Shoemake Sheppard of the home; a son, Jamie Sheppard of Cheraw; daughters, Shannon Sheppard of Bennettsville and Elizabeth Traenkner (James) of Texas; a sister, Irene Roller of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Heather Jackson, Dakota Jackson, and Mackenzie Traenkner; great grandchildren, Bryson, Jacob, Eli, Hazelynn, Karter, and Kashleigh; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
A funeral service was held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial followed the service at Rogers Cemetery.
A time of visitation was held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 7, 2024, one hour prior to the service at Rogers Funeral Home.
