Jenny Johnson Courtney

Mrs. Jenny Johnson Courtney, loving Mother and Grandmother went Home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Grace Baptist Church in Pageland, SC by Pastor Neal Gainey and Bro. Ricky Malloy with the eulogy being delivered by her granddaughter, Kylie Evans. The committal service followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery officiated by Pastor Mark Evans and Brent Taylor. The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jenny Courtney was born November 11, 1952, the eldest daughter of Robert and Ella Johnson. She was raised working in her families produce business and graduated from Pageland High School. Mrs. Jenny Courtney went on to run multiple business, including J&J Tomato Company, but her favorite job and what she was known for was being the IGA Produce Manager.

In her younger years Mrs. Jenny Courtney was known as “Whitey” due to her incredible blond hair. She cherished this name since her father was the first one to call her this. In her lifetime, Mrs. Jenny went by many names but her favorite was “Grammy”. She was first called this name by her grandchildren, but eventually everyone she loved knew her as “Grammy”. Family, friends and anyone she came in contact with, experienced the love of Grammy.

Mrs. Jenny Courtney cherished her relationship with Jesus Christ and strived to teach her children and grandchildren the joy of having an intimate relationship with Him. Although her cancer made it hard to attend in her final years, Mrs. Jenny was a dedicated member of Grace Baptist Church in Pageland. In her time at Grace she served in many roles as a Charter member. Over the years she taught children’s Sunday school, was on the hostess committee, and served as treasurer and trustee. Mrs. Jenny loved and cherished her church and family in Christ.

Mrs. Jenny Courtney was preceded in death by many cherished loved ones including: her loving Husband, Don Courtney, her father Robert “Bob” Johnson, her siblings Tony Johnson, Sheila Killough, and adored niece Tara Allison.

Mrs. Jenny Courtney is survived by a large and loving family including the following: Mother: Ella Johnson of Pageland, SC; Daughters: Missy (Neal) Gainey of Bethune, SC; Amie Catoe (Bernard Clyburn) of Taxahaw, SC; Son in Heart:

Saul (Paola) Espinoza of Jefferson, SC; Grandchildren: Kylie (Eric) Evans of Monroe, NC, Faith Catoe of Columbia, SC, Cannon Gainey, Michael Gainey, Bryceson Gainey of Bethune, SC, Ruben Espinoza, Marc Anthony Espinoza and Ruth Espinoza of Jefferson, SC; Siblings: Wayne (Donna) Johnson of Jefferson, SC, Randy Johnson of Pageland, SC, Judy Humphries of Pageland, SC, and Robert (Hilda) Johnson of Bonita Springs, FL .

The following verses were cherished by Mrs. Jenny Courtney may they bring comfort to her family and friends in this time. “The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation,” Psalm 118:14.

“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer,” Psalm 19:14.

“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise,” Jeremiah 17: 14.

Elizabeth ‘Lib’ Lilly Frazier

PATRICK – Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Lilly Frazier, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior very peacefully on Saturday morning, August 31, 2024 with her daughters by her side. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Westfield Creek Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Jason Pope and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

Born on December 14, 1932, in Randleman, North Carolina, Mrs. Frazier was the daughter of the late Marshall Hubert and Florence Edna Allred Lilly. She devoted over 15 years to her role as a church secretary at First Wesleyan Church of Randleman. As a faithful member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church, Mrs. Frazier served the Lord as a choir member, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and WMU member, and actively participated in the annual Vacation Bible School and Christian Youth Crusaders. Her compassionate and Christ-like spirit shone through her dedication to the shut-in and nursing home outreach ministry, where she regularly visited members, mailed bulletins and cards, and most of all, prayed for those in need. Her legacy as a fervent prayer warrior will be deeply treasured by all who knew her.

Mrs. Frazier was an avid reader and more than anything sought daily to be a student of God’s word. The true matriarch of her family, her love, prayers, and admiration for her family was unparalleled and she took great pride in being lovingly referred to as “Grandma” by her grandchildren that loved her so much. She also expressed her selflessness through her baking and cooking, always eager to share her blessings with others.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Frazier was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Wilson Frazier; son, Richard Douglas Frazier; and brother, Walter Lilly.

Those left to cherish her beautiful memory include her daughters, Cathy Luther (Doyle) of Star, NC, and Terri Campbell (Tommy) of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Lisa Parnell (Scottie), Brad Haynes (Chrissy), Trey Campbell (Ashley), Matthew Campbell (Hannah), Ashley Vance (Steven), and Shelley Schultz (Daniel); great grandchildren, Hannah, Keileigh, Brandon, Lilly, Emma, Kolin, Georgia, Sunni, Coleman, Dillon, Jase, and Kaylin; great-great grandchildren, Brennan, and Kaison.

Also surviving are her siblings, Cletus Lilly (Nella), Alma Matthews, Earl Lilly (Jenny), Iona Frazier, Ila Flinchum (Fred), and Rachel Lilly; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and support received from hospice nurse Sabrina Register and the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield.

Mary Ann Ryman

RUBY – Mrs. Mary Ann Ryman, age 82, entered into rest on Saturday August 24, 2024. The family will host a private memorial service at a later date.

Mrs. Ryman was born July 28, 1942 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Andrew Bobby and Margaret Luchi Kolbeck. Mary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saint Johns, PA. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Mary will be remembered for her strong work ethic. Mrs. Ryman was also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. When her health allowed, Mrs. Mary’s favorite hobby was playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ryman was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Bobby, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ann Ryman; and son-in-law, Anthony Kalenak.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, John Ryman of the home; children, John Ryman, Jr. of Ruby, SC, Karen Kalenak of Drums, PA; grandchildren, Crystal Albertine, Anthony Kalenak, Christopher Watson, and John Ryman, III.
