Elizabeth Grace ‘Gracie’ Campbell
AVONDALE, W.V./CHERAW – Elizabeth Grace “Gracie” Campbell, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Born on January 11, 1950, in Bradshaw, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henry Andrew and Margaret Rippeth Lowery.
Gracie was a devoted member of the Grapevine Church of God in Iaeger, WV. She had a passion for reading, fishing, and solving puzzles, which brought joy to her life and those around her.
Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by a son, William Campbell; and a brother, Bebo Lowery.
Gracie leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, Victor Campbell (Joann) of Cheraw, SC; daughters, Theda Lyn Durbin (JC) of Carthage, NC and Rachel Michele Bowman (Brian) of Biscoe, NC; brothers, Henry Lowery (Sherri), Danny Lowery (Rezi), Bob Lowery (Pam), and Robin Dale Lowery; and sisters, Georgie Cook, Sheila Payne (Larry), Johnnie Stanley, Jean Addair, and Suzie Puckett (Bobby); thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date and will take place in West Virginia.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Campbell family in their time of grief.

Cathey Hatcher McLain
WALLACE – Mrs. Cathey Hatcher McLain, aged 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born on July 21, 1952, Bennettsville, SC, she was the beloved daughter of the late Rev. Jerry M. Hatcher and Mary Lee Broome Hatcher.
Cathey was a devoted member of Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church in Rockingham, NC, where she found great joy in her faith and in sharing her love of music as a singer with the Gospel Group, Heaven Heirs. Her nurturing spirit was also evident through her commitment as a Foster Parent for twelve years, impacting many lives with her kindness and compassion.
Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Welch; brothers, Larry Brigman and Mitchell “Mickey” Brigman; sisters, Vivian Gathings, Fran Mabe, and Darlene Lovelace; and her grandmother, Ada Chappell Broome.
Cathey leaves behind to cherish her memory, her granddaughter, Kayla Welch; nieces and nephews, Amy Rainwater (Joe), Tyler Graves (Jessica), Kylie Rainwater, Randy Lovelace (Christy), Trey Lovelace, Michelle Fuller (Alan), and Jayda Graves; a cousin that was more like a daughter, Anna Previtte; her second daddy, Rev. Glenn Previtte; and best friends Tim and Kaye English.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church in Rockingham, NC. Burial followed in True Gospel Emmanuel Holiness Church in Wallace, SC.
The family received friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC.
