Richard Wayne ‘Peg’ Boone
PATRICK — Richard Wayne “Peg” Boone, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. He was born on February 17, 1969, at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to Violet Freeman Boone and the late Benny Ray Boone.
Richard dedicated his professional life to Ferro Fab in Hamlet, North Carolina, and was an active member of the Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club, Scotland County, NC Chapter. His passion for motorcycling was matched only by his love for his family, particularly the time he cherished with his grandchildren and granddaughter.
He Is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian Vanover Boone, and his mother, Violet Lehoskay of Hawthorne, New Jersey. Richard is also remembered by his daughters, Marah Albright (Eric) of Somerset, Kentucky, Astra Hall (Josh) of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Sierra Mullins of Somerset, Kentucky. Additional surviving family includes his sister, Cindy Terraglia (Vic) of Hawthorne, New Jersey; grandchildren Cameron Albright, Jacqueline Adington, Nashay Snow, Cassandra Adington, Braxston Albright, Gemma Adington, Emmett Dortch, Raylee Adington, Erica Albright, and Pamela “Dunky” Albright; a great-grandson, Dreylon Arlo; and his niece, Chloe Terraglia, and nephew, Cody Mathis.
A memorial Motorcycle Run will be organized in his honor at a later date.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Boone family in their time of grief.

Ernest G. “Bert” Mays, Jr.
HARTSVILLE — Ernest Gilbert “Bert” Mays, Jr., aged 74, passed away on June 2, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1950, in Camden, SC, to the late Ernest Gilbert Mays, Sr. and Shirley Iris Dickey Mays.
Bert was a dedicated individual known for his strong work ethic and love for his family. He served as a manager at Brown’s RV Superstore in McBee, SC. His time was often spent cherishing moments with his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren, and he had a passion for woodworking.
He is survived by his sons: Michael Huggins of Lugoff, SC; Justin Mays (Heather) of Hartsville, SC; and Johnathan Mays (Christine) of Timmonsville, SC. His daughter, Elizabeth Mays of Cassatt, SC, his brother, Clint Mays of Bethune, SC, sister, Panda Douglas (Franklin) of Bethune, SC, as well as his grandchildren: Eva Mays, Jordan Mays, Ian Mays, Brayden Hicks, Cheyanne Hicks, and son-in-law, Andrew Stephens of Indianapolis, IN, also cherish his memory.
A graveside service was conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Bethel Cemetery in Bethune, SC.
The family invites friends to join them for visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at Bethel Methodist Church.

Clyde Carson Quick
CHERAW — Clyde Carson “CC” Quick, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1946, a son of the late Clyde and Juanita Lawrence Quick.
Clyde had a deep passion for reading, particularly mysteries, and enjoyed watching western films. His enthusiasm for college sports was evident, especially his support for the University of South Carolina’s football team and women’s basketball program. Clyde dedicated a significant portion of his life to truck driving, where he developed an extraordinary familiarity with highways and interstates across the United States. Up until recently, he still could provide backroad directions pretty much anywhere and usually more accurately than GPS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Joyce Ann Christian Quick.
Clyde is survived by his daughter, Tammie Quick (Kevin) of Fuquay Varina, NC; his grandchildren, Maxwell Gregson (Grace) of Emerald Isle, NC, and Corinne Gregson of Wilmington, NC; as well as his brothers, Richard Quick and family of Dickinson, TX; David Quick and family of Wallace, SC; Alan Quick and family of Biscoe, NC; and Charles Quick and family of Wallace, SC.
The family requests privacy during this time of mourning. Future service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
