Richard William Edwards
PAGELAND — Mr. Richard William Edwards entered into rest on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the age of 59. Funeral services were held at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Lighthouse Baptist Church by Pastor Billy Carter and Pastor Devan Madden with burial following in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 11:00-12:00PM prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Edwards was born July 15, 1965 in Monroe, NC the son of Margaret Watts Edwards and the late Billy Joe Edwards. Richard was a retiree from Graphic Packaging where he worked for more than 20 years. Mr. Edwards was a man with a good sense of humor and he enjoyed cutting up with everyone he met. He especially loved picking with his grandchildren. Richard found peace in the outdoors; usually with a fishing pole in hand. He also enjoyed being on the open road on his motorcycle. Richard also loved animals; especially his chickens, and his dogs, Spike and Roscoe.
Survivors include his daughter, Nicole (Travis) Tucker of Pageland, SC; mother, Margaret Edwards of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Noah Tucker, 18, Olivia Tucker, 16, and Camden Tucker, 11, all of Pageland, SC; sister, Angela (Jimmy) Kirkley of Monroe, NC; niece, Paige (Dylan) Ward of Pageland, SC; nephew, Jared Tadlock of Pageland, SC; and great-nephews, Adrian and Julian Ward both of Pageland, SC.

Douglas ‘Doug’ Britt Grant
CHERAW — Mr. Douglas “Doug” Britt Grant, age 76, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born on September 26, 1948, in North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joe and Vera Britt Grant. Doug had a profound love for fishing and collecting antiques. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Gayle Melton Grant.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Grant (Amy Stroud) of Cheraw, SC; his daughter, Hope Castor of Cheraw; brother, Henry Grant (Etta) of Jefferson, SC; five grandchildren: Brittany Grant, Allie Chavis (Cody), Sarah Castor, Carson Castor, and Ciera Grant; a great-granddaughter, Eden Chavis; a nephew, Joe Grant (Sam) of Lancaster, SC; a niece, Melissa Anderson of Jefferson, SC; and a great-nephew, Roman Anderson of Jefferson, SC.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC.
The family received friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service on Tuesday.

Dovie Robertson Hunter
CHERAW — Dovie R. Hunter, 96, died Sunday, June 8, 2025. Born in York County, SC she was a daughter of the late Vander and Carrie Wilson Roberson. She was the widow of Harold Hunter. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee. She enjoyed cooking for church and family gatherings. Ms. Dovie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a faithful church member always enjoying attending church. Ms. Dovie was a retired cloth inspector at James Fabrics / Burlington Industries in Cheraw, SC.
Surviving is her son, Garry Hunter (Jane) of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Colby Hunter (Robin) of Hartsville, SC, Brock Ellis (Dawn), Heather Melton (Rich Thomas) all of Kings Mountain, NC, great grandchildren, Kya Hunter, Genises Hunter, Aydin Hunter, T.J. Hall, Clara Hunter, Samantha, Violet.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents listed above, also, a son, Reggie Hunter, brothers, Randolph Roberson, Ezell Roberson, a sister, Cornelia Helms and a granddaughter, Susan Hunter.
A funeral service was held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Westside Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC. Burial was in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family received friends following the committal service.
