Pageland police officer arrested on domestic violence charge
A Pageland police officer has been arrested and terminated following a domestic violence incident earlier this week.
According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Brandon Gerald Dixon, 37, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, after responding to a call regarding a domestic dispute. Dixon was booked into the Chesterfield County Detention Center the same day.
Pageland Police Chief Dean Short confirmed Dixon’s arrest and said immediate action was taken.
“When I became aware of Mr. Dixon’s conduct, it resulted in the termination of employment,” said Short. “Officers are held to a higher standard as part of their duty to protect and serve. That’s why they are held accountable when they fall short.”
